Ice cream 🍨 with Unniyappam
“If we can pair ice cream with Gulab Jamun, why not with Unniyappam?”
This wild thought made me to try this combination.
Trust me—it’s a delicious combination!
In Malayalam, “Unni” means small and “Appam” means rice cake. Unniyappam is a classic evening snack you’ll find in many Kerala homes—sweet, soft, and full of nostalgia.
I got a batch from and they were incredibly soft and flavorful! I warmed them up slightly to reduce the excess oil (a little tip for the calorie-conscious 😉)—and guess what? The Unniyappam literally smiled at me!
With these heat waves hitting hard, there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself to some ice cream. 🍨
