Farming is a long game. And at Leefield Station, itās generational.
Weāre proud to welcome Tim Salter as our new Farm Manager.
Tim joins us after 12 years managing a large-scale breeding and finishing operation in the Te Anau Basin ā finishing up to 1,000 Angus cattle annually and consistently achieving lambing rates above 140%.
But beyond the numbers, what stood out to us was something simpler.
His answer when asked his superpower?
āCalling a spade a spade.ā
His mantra?
āGet in and do it.ā
Tim has worked across sheep and cattle studs throughout Marlborough and the South Island. Heās hands-on, practical, and deeply committed to breeding resilient, commercially sound cattle ā while caring for the land that supports them.
He returns to Marlborough with his wife Rachel, five children, two grandchildren, five working dogs, a hunter, a pony and six chooks.
When asked his favourite part of the job, he said:
āWatching animals grow and seeing breeding results in the flesh.ā
Because in farming, results arenāt theoretical. Theyāre standing in front of you.
Welcome to the Station, Tim.
Nothing by halves.
