Welcome to our small, family-owned farm nestled in the picturesque town of Motukarara, New Zealand. We specialise in breeding Saddleback pigs, known for their exceptional quality and gentle temperament. We take pride in ensuring our pigs have the best possible lives, allowing them to roam freely in spacious, natural environments. We extract honey, not only for ourselves but also for fellow beekeep

ers and hobbyists who share our love for these incredible pollinators. Our honey is a true labour of love, created by the bees from the nectar of flowers in our diverse landscape.

Three Fun Facts About Pigs 🐽✨… part 1? 😉

🐽They’re basically a “greatest hits” breed. Back in the 60s, they merged the Wessex and Essex pigs because they were both dying out. It’s a good thing they did—we nearly lost a massive part of our farming history to those big industrial “white” breeds.

🐽The “Gentleman” vs. the “Farmer.” It used to be a bit of a running joke. The Essex (the ones with the white socks) was called the “gentleman’s pig,” while the Wessex was the “farmer’s choice.” Mine seem to be a bit of both, usually depending on how much mud they’ve found that morning.

🐽They’re built for the sun. You see a lot of pink pigs getting sunburnt, but that dark skin on a Saddleback acts like a natural sunblock. It’s why they’re so happy living outdoors year-round while other breeds are hiding in the shed.

Shall we do part 2? Let us know if you keen to learn more!

She asked for a ‘business in the front, party in the back’ look, but the clippers decided she’s just ‘business on the left’ for now ✂️
