We're at the Australian National Fieldays with Total Ag Solutions at site J18, and we've got the GrassFarmer 3018D on display.

If you're dealing with stony ground, or hard summer conditions, this is the drill worth a look. The individually sprung concave discs ride over rocks, cut through heavy residue and leave a clean slot for the seed. Come have a chat with Jack and see it for yourself. We're here 22 to 24 October.

A closer look at the sprung metering wheel on the Aitchison GrassFarmer seed drill, and why it matters for consistent, accurate direct drilling.
This metering wheel drives the seed drill gearbox, which rotates the foam pads and meters seed down the tubes into the ground. Because it's sprung and not locked to a depth wheel, it follows ground contour and stays in positive contact with the ground at all times.
Being a mechanical ground drive, the gearbox gets an accurate, consistent drive straight off the wheel. It's simple, reliable, and there’s nothing complicated to go wrong.

Trash blocking your seed drill? It's one of the most frustrating parts of sowing into maize stubble.
The owner of this new GrassFarmer 3014D had been dealing with this exact problem on their other drills, so they reached out to Aitchison. The disc drill system on this GrassFarmer handled the maize trash with ease.

With spring not far away, the team have been busy. Out visiting dealers, delivering stock machines, and making sure that when spring arrives and you're ready to take control of your pasture management, there's an Aitchison drill in the dealer's yard waiting to get to work.

It's first in, first served, so worth getting in early.

When you're direct drilling with a disc drill, one of the major benefits is that your seed gets planted with minimal disturbance to the seedbed around it.
Retained moisture, intact soil structure, and preserved microbial life all contribute to a healthier pasture that produces more season after season, so you can increase your feed.

Check out these shots of a GrassFarmer 3018C getting it done in some tough conditions. 👌
It was some pretty muddy, slippery conditions, but the tidy little unit was ticking along nicely and did a mint job of planting the winter oats.

They say the proof is in the pudding. In October 2025, we partnered with NZ YouTuber Hill Country Farmer in the Rangitikei District (NZ) to plant a Swede crop with a GrassFarmer seed drill. We checked back in December, then again in April 2026, and the strike speaks for itself. Check out this crop progress video to see what owning your own drill can do for your pasture production.
