The recent Massey Agriculture, Horticulture and Environmental Science Awards Dinner was a great opportunity to celebrate achievement and connect with future leaders.

Michael Caccioppoli (Head of Coolstore, Logistics & Engineering), Robbie McCormick (Technical Manager), Katie Sharplin (Binstores Operation Manager), and Delta (Career Start Program Intern) represented Mr Apple at the event and earlier hosted a lunch session with students to discuss career opportunities and our Career Start Program, which is currently open for applications.

Kiwifruit from Māori growers is now reaching the United Arab Emirates, through a new collaboration between Mr Apple, Zespri, and Māori Kiwifruit Growers (MKG).

Earlier this month, Te Arikinui Kuini Nga Wai Hono i te Pō, the Māori Queen, led a delegation to Dubai for the initiative launch, attended by government officials from both countries, Māori growers, and representatives from Zespri and Mr Apple.

This new partnership builds on our existing collaborative marketing agreement with Zespri. Mr Apple is supporting Māori growers with logistics, marketing, and promotional resources for the joint retail campaign, Legends of Aotearoa.

We’re proud to help grow demand for NZ produce in the UAE while backing Māori grower aspirations and trade.

Meet Jesse — our new data engineer in the Technology team

Jesse joins Mr Apple as a data engineer, bringing experience in system implementation and data management across finance and public sector clients.

At full capacity, this site holds 62,500 bins — and during their busiest week, nearly 13,000 bins came through in just six days. A massive thank you to the crew for powering through a huge season.

Our RSE team from Kia Island has just completed their second season in the packhouses at Mr Apple. All 15 men are fishermen who lost their homes in the 2020 cyclone.

In 2023, the Fijian government partnered with Mr Apple to offer them work through the RSE scheme, a chance to earn money and rebuild.

Since then, they’ve reroofed the community hall, built a new church, improved local infrastructure, and supported others in recovery. Their efforts have made a real impact, both here and back home.

We’re growing future leaders through the Mr Apple Horticulture Development Programme. This session took the team behind the scenes of post-harvest where they toured our Whakatu lab, binstores, packhouse, and Hastings Coolstore with our experts to see what happens after the fruit leaves the orchard.

They explored fruit maturity, food safety, packhouse tech, bin logistics, and planning. Thank you to everyone who helped bring the day together. It was a great chance to learn and connect.
