A postive post not about the weather … today a key member of our team Innes (effectively known as Colsey around here ) turns 11 today!!

She’s been a real family effort around here over the past month with the weather and the kids have all been putting in the hard yards helping us as we battle the elements 👍

1st day of Spring and it’s been a bloody rugged last 48 hours in Heriot.
Tagged just on 330 stud Dorset Down lambs in the last week. Calving started as well so far from ideal weather . Fingers cross the sun comes out to dry us out before the rest of the ewes start soon🤞🏻

NEW STUD EWES

With the Moeraki Downs Coopworth stud selling their farm and subsequently their stud we took the opportunity to purchase what we considered the pick of the Stud ewes. All ewes over 3000 index and all scanned in lamb to have twins and triplets .

These ewes arrived tonight … not the greatest day to arrive to West Otago 👍

Another low birth sire at +2.4 he was one of the heaviest cakves at weaning reflected in strong 200 day weight (+33)
Big SS at +2.6 and huge EMA at +6.5 (all top 5%)
