Last Thursday, The Lost Larder was able to finish off the Young Enterprise Scheme Year at Nationals. After a successful pitch, the judges loved the product, story and potential of the business. Resulting in the top 5, which isn't too bad considering we didn't have the numbers like the other teams, as being in our first year has been a matter of a long, tricky journey of development and getting this product safe for market. But we are excited for next year as we partner with Southern Seafood Products to start production early next year! For this year, though even though many challenges have arisen, I'm grateful for every bit of it, as it may not be the pace I would like it has meant I have learned more than any classroom can teach, and it has been amazing to learn the way of business with the most supportive community, Southland!

Thanks to the Southland Business Chamber for helping with the project of YES. But also thanks to Calvin Claridge, Ethan Flack and Carla from Naked Creative. I am forever grateful for the time you have given me, as you are all so busy already with your own businesses and work. Your knowledge, generosity, kindness and work has been incredible.

Topping off with Southland Company of the Year!
This means we will be heading to the nationals in December to represent Southland. It's been quite a journey and process of getting this first product, Eel Pate, ready for the NZ market this year, but very close now! Couldn't get this far though without the support of mentor Calvin Claridge, Chef Ethan Flack, teacher Mr. Byars and the team at Naked Creative. As well as the many sponsors and key helpers: McIntyre Dick, for finance.

Our Service
The Lost Larder is a marketing company, with the goal of helping existing food businesses add value to products within the New Zealand market. It is a bold new voice in the New Zealand culinary scene – a boutique, flavour- forward enterprise dedicated to elevating the often-overlooked ingredients of our land and sea. The Lost Larder is not just about exceptional food – it’s about rewriting the food story of Aoteroa. With deep respect for our natural resources and culinary heritage, The Lost Larder champions the idea that every ingredient has a place at the table. Even the unexpected. Especially the unexpected. So, The Lost Larder, with its purpose to honor New Zealand’s role as a food basket to the world by celebrating its most underappreciated and extraordinary ingredients – and doing so with innovation, and style, has two main points for our customers by adding value to their already unique food by processing into a new product, more ideal for the market and then marketing it for them.
