Lately, I’ve been exploring new ideas and inspiration for wedding cakes. 🤍

Mini cakes arranged on one long cake board have been trending for birthdays, and I started wondering… what if we gave this idea a romantic, vintage-inspired twist for weddings?

I think it could be such a beautiful and unique alternative to a traditional wedding cake!

OF COURSE, this image was created with AI. I never use AI images on my feed because I love sharing only cakes I’ve actually made, but I’m making an exception this time to share an idea I’ve been playing with.

It is chocolate cake with white chocolate buttercream, crushed Oreos, Oreo cookie chunks and a hint of caramel! Yum!

In this one, the Mommy was very much involved in the cake, so it was more a collaboration cake 😊

This has been the biggest cake I’ve made so far — a cake for 150 people to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Kerikeri Retirement Village!

It definitely challenged me, but I honestly loved every part of the process. I enjoy a good challenge, and this one pushed me to think, plan and create in new ways.

For the flavours, I chose two different combinations:

- Vanilla cake with strawberry ganache, shortbread crumbs & strawberry compote.

- Cookies & cream with white chocolate buttercream, crushed Oreos & cookie chunks.

Seeing it all come together and finally delivering it was such a rewarding moment.

CAKE DECORATING WORKSHOP — NEW DATE!

Due to Labour Weekend falling on the original date, I’ve decided to reschedule my Cake Decorating Workshop to Saturday, 14 November!

Join me for a fun and relaxed afternoon learning how to decorate your very own 5-inch bento cake with our raditional white chocolate buttercream.

You’ll get to decorate, create, enjoy a drink, listen to some music and, of course, take your beautiful little cake home with you!

After a few weeks away, I’m nearly back in Kerikeri and I thought what better way to celebrate than with cake, colour, music and a lovely morning together?

I’m so excited to host my very first Mini Cake Painting Workshop — inspired by the little bento cake painting trend that has been popping up all over the world. 🎨

We’ll decorate our own 5-inch bento cake, covered in my traditional white chocolate buttercream, and you can get as creative as you like with colour and design.

I’ll take care of everything — cake, buttercream, decorations, materials and a drink. There’ll be music, lots of colour, and hopefully plenty of laughs along the way. You just need to bring yourself… and take your little masterpiece home with you afterwards. 🤍
