Wairarapa Eggs Ltd Wairarapa's Leading Free Range Egg Producer We bought Wairarapa Eggs from Alexandra’s father in 2011. He had in turn owned the business for close to 30 years.

Being a family business, we take great pride in our product and in providing fantastic customer service. We really enjoy the face to face contact so Chris tries to do the daily deliveries to keep up to date with customers’ feedback, and to make sure we are providing the best in service and product. We’ve got three beautiful children – 2 boys and a daughter (yes, we were feeling clucky … ) and you

guessed it, eggs one way or the other feature in family meals most days. Together with my wife, Alexandra we are extremely proud of our great business located just outside of Masterton. Free Range eggs are so good for you – they’re not only nutritious but you can feel good about where your egg came from. We provide our hens with the best of care and our Free Range birds have access to the outdoors 24 hours a day.”

Bird flu has now been confirmed in a wild bird (a native hawk) in Carterton. That’s our neck of the woods. This has escalated us to Level 3 red alert. This is our highest level. Let’s hope we are not at this level for long!! See more on our Biosecurity on our website. Eggs sales are still totally available just order online (the on farm store is now closed)

Bird flu has been detected in Wellington. There is no cause for alarm. We are monitoring the situation. For those that don’t know our biosecurity alert levels are Star Trek themed 🤓. For more on our current biosecurity on farm head to link in bio.

Life isn’t always cute chicken photos, sometimes it’s standing on mounds of chicken poo cleaning feed pans. Sums up life right 🤭. Can’t just have the fun times with out the mahi. So what’s the process here? We said farewell to a flock and before the new young ones come we need to clean the shed. All the equipment gets taken out and washed. We dig out all the chook poo (that gets spread around my brother in laws farm, it’s great fertiliser), we scrape and brush and clean as best we can. Then the new girls can have a great start.
