We’re excited to be heading to the Stratford StrEAT Food Festival this weekend and can’t wait to fire up the smokers for you all! 🍖🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who came down and supported Pit Laynz BBQ at The Seaside Market tonight. We’re so grateful for the incredible turnout. 🙌
Big apologies for selling out in the first couple of hours — the number of people who came to see us was completely unexpected.
Definitely a good problem to have, but we never like turning anyone away.

We had an awesome weekend King of the Mountain BBQ Competition.

Firstly, huge thanks go to Craig LeathleySmokn Comrades and his team for throwing together another epic comp 👏 👏.

Next up to the brothers Cook Cartel solid cook once again giving them GC for the weekend and the 3peat 🥇

Another solid showing was the lads fish bar-bee-Q walking away with the RGC for the weekend well done. 🥈

Big ups to everyone who got walks and calls congrats.

For us we were happy just to be there bit nervous at the start hadnt competed for awhile, but as soon as the brisket hit the grates we were on.

For us we were pretty happy with where we landed 17th overall with a couple call ups.

Lastly thanks to everyone who sent through messages and stopped by to have a chat appreciate it, and catching up with the BBQ famz is always a good time.

🔥Pit Laynz BBQ will be competing at the King of the Mountain BBQ Competition🔥

Come down, say hi and get a few tips & tricks from some of the best bbq teams in the country.🍖🍗

It’s not too late to register your team, so if you’re a keen to give it a go now’s the time! 💪

King of The Mountain is back & Saturday the 9th of August is shaping up to be a good day for the public to come out and support this Free Public Event and learn a bit about low n slow
BBQ.

Currently we have 25 of NZ best BBQ teams locked in competing it out for the NZBA Title.

On the live stage this year we have

9am Peter Hughes from rollingcoalbbqnz doing a bit of a demo about cooking Wings, Lamb Ribs and firstlightgrassfed tommahawk steaks rubbed
Down with The Four Saucemen Rubs and Sauces

Sad post 😢

Sadly we have had to cancel this weekends midwinter festival ☔️ at this stage the outlook is bleak and due to health and safety we have had to make the call to cancel to ensure that our vendors and community aren’t compromised 😞 we had to make this call today before our food trucks ordered in all the food 🥘

Not all is lost though as we have something extra massive planned for December 13th so pencil that into your diary’s 🤗
