Little chicken Ash (secretly my favorite chicken) went missing about a month ago, when we were being regularly visited by a hawk.
I assumed the worst. (They say 'never have a favorite chicken, they will die').
But yesterday, we found her, and her reason for leaving: desperately wanting to be a mom - not ideal as it's mid winter and we had been rooster-less for a while, but she'll have the chance in the spring now that we've got a lovely new man.
