This week our Zoffee team came together from different sides of the planet to spend time on strategy, partnerships, and a sprinkle of extra inspiration 🌎

The team included Co-founders Keeys and Dods alongside Research and Innovation Graduate Walsh and specialist contractor Calder Hawkins

A morning highlight was the Comvita New Zealand Wellness Lab, with an insightful immersion experience into the journey of creating NZ premium manuka honey 🐝

The story teaches invaluable lessons for how New Zealand can leverage its perfect position for the next breakthrough of high-value, health-focused, and nature-positive products to delight consumers across Aotearoa and beyond.

We asked: How would you like your Zoffee?

You told us:

On LinkedIn : 69% want grounds, but a few of you still prefer an instant or even an RTD (30 voters) ☕

On Instagram & Facebook: Grounds wins again, but this time RTD takes second place (70 voters) 🫘

Through Consumer research: Instant takes the title at 40% preference - followed by RTD & grounds around 25% each (102 voters) 🤎

What does this mean for Zoffee? Well we’ve got some number crunching to do!

While we’re digging into demographic details, preference nuances, and formulation strategies, watch this space to see which format you can get your hands on first, with our Zoffee pre-launch, and anticipated limited release products coming soon ⏳

While Zoffee may be zooming into 2026 with an action-packed year ahead,

We also wanted to take a moment to reflect on the successes of 2025:

We’ve employed and contracted some excellent talent through the year including hunt, Walsh, Daly & Hawkins

We’ve achieved almost every milestone in our SFFF project, working with AbacusBio, , Partners, Ngāti Tamaterā, and our growing partners.

We’ve had collaborations with great organisations such as Pest Free Token and Stylo Digital, and started exploring new ones with Aotearoa and Bioeconomy Science Institute.

And we flew past 50 pre-orders for our ‘first cup’ packages!

So thank you to our customers, partners, and spectators supporting us along the way – we can’t wait for the next 12 months and beyond!

Workstream Update - Product Development Program

For Zoffee, it began in a kitchen three years ago. Today, it’s advanced to a modern food innovation laboratory program – thanks to our collaboration with the NZ Food Innovation Network (NZFIN) and international experts.

Every cup is shaped by many steps: drying, roasting, fermenting, flavour development. Together with our partners, we’re refining the process to craft a beverage that delivers the perfect mix of indulgence and boost.

We’re now in the final stages – and for the first time, you can be among the very first to taste it.

Workstream Update - Breeding Program:

Over the past 18 months, we’ve identified a series of high-performing plants from our native populations. These are now being integrated into a modern breeding program designed to develop varieties that are:

☕ Producing delicious, coffee-like flavours

This is where tradition meets innovation: blending natural biodiversity with cutting-edge science to create something truly unique.
