So I was literally just looking at a box of pies and noticed "Since 1909"...
Naturally, I had questions. 😂
One Google rabbit hole later, I've discovered Herbert Adams belongs to Australian company Patties Food Group, which is ultimately owned by PAG, a Hong Kong-based international investment firm.
PAG manages over US$60 BILLION in assets. BILLION. 💀
All this from a bloody pie box.
Now I'm wondering how many brands on our supermarket shelves are actually owned by the same handful of massive companies.
I'm not saying don't buy the pies. I bought them 😂
But seriously, why isn't it easier to see who actually owns what?
We keep getting told to support local, but how are we supposed to know who we're supporting?
Anyone else find this stuff fascinating or do I just have too much time to investigate my dinner? 😂
