November is always a special month for our team in Shanghai.

It’s when we showcase, in partnership with our major shareholder Bright Dairy, all that Synlait has to offer at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) - the world’s largest import expo! Bright Dairy always does an exceptional job of making sure Synlait stands out to the thousands of attendees (in a building as big as 70 rugby fields)!

The pink carpet was rolled out with elaborate displays, tastings and presentations to showcase the full range of our New Zealand made products. Attendees also heard from our CEO Richard Wyeth and our Director of On-Farm Excellence, Business Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Charles Fergusson as they shone a light on how, through our land, our farmers and our expertise, we can make world-class products.

But the star attraction was around 70 of our farmers who were part of the action. Some of them even jumping on stage to join the Bright Dairy dancers’ milk dance.

While we have fun, our team also works hard to ensure we make the most of this opportunity to deepen our connection to one of our most important markets.

You can see the highlights below 🎉💫🌟🎊👏

Synlait is on the mooove - for a cause that matters.

The Māia Health Foundation are in urgent need of three incubators for Christchurch Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) - equipment essential for safely transferring premature and critically ill babies for life-saving procedures.
📈 With 841 premature births in Christchurch last year alone, the need for modern, reliable incubators is more urgent than ever.

Today is a defining moment for Synlait.

We are delighted to announce we have entered a binding conditional agreement to sell our North Island assets to our valued customer, and global healthcare leader – Abbott.

For Synlait, the divestment will deliver us approximately NZ$307 million.

CEO Richard Wyeth shared the good news with our team this morning. (photo below).

The proceeds will be used to significantly reduce our remaining debt, strengthening Synlait’s financial position.

As chair George Adams says, this valuable reset will present Synlait with a rich opportunity we have not had for some time: to move beyond crises to planning a real and vibrant future.

This is a turning point we have fought hard for and are ready to embrace.

Our financial results for the year ended 31 July 2025 have also been released today.

FY26 is shaping up to be quite a different year for Synlait. With a simplified, South Island-focused business and the opportunity to grow a future that will see us return to being one of New Zealand’s business success stories.

Thank you all for your support, while we got to this new place.

🌸 Raising Money for a Powerful Cause 🌸

Maddison Eatery, by Jaba was transformed into a sea of pink for Synlait’s inaugural Pink Ribbon Breakfast yesterday, and what an inspiring morning it was!

Together with our team, farmers, and supporters, we raised over $2,500 for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ 💗 supporting their mission of zero deaths from breast cancer through vital research, early detection, and awareness.

A heartfelt thank you to Monica Farrell, breast cancer survivor and owner of Maddison Eatery, for bravely sharing her breast cancer journey with us. Your story truly moved the room.

Special thanks to Moffatts Flower Company for donating two stunning bouquets for our breakfast raffle 🌸🌼 Congratulations to Jo Finer and Matt Bubb as our lucky winners!

Synlait farmers are the cream of the crop when it comes to best practice dairy farming.

They innovate and go above and beyond to care for animals, people and the environment.

We are always amazed at the new approaches they’re trialing. Check out this trailblazer, the amazing Isaac Williams who farms in Selwyn.

A Selwyn District farm is defying convention.

We've had a great week at South Island Agricultural Field Days 2025! 🎉🚜

Three big days filled with great conversations 👏, plenty of cream-topped pancakes 🥞, and the exciting reveal of the new BDI rugby jerseys 🏉—which we’re proud to be the major sponsor of!

To top it all off, we even had a visit from Prime Minister Luxon this morning 🇳🇿

It was fantastic for our team to catch up with so many farmers, and we loved seeing the pink bucket hats out in force across the crowd!

A huge thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat with the team!

Since the partnership was launched Synlait’s farmers have saved $2.5 million 💰 on their purchases (that’s about 3c per kgMS) so we think that’s worth celebrating!
