Fixed-Term Calf Rearer / Shed Helper Wanted - 5 minutes from Te Awamutu
We are looking for a reliable Calf Rearer / Shed Helper to join our team on a fixed-term basis, starting mid/late July through until October. This is a drive in role.
Reporting to the Head Calf Rearer, this is a hands-on role working with young calves, where animal welfare and attention to detail are a top priority.
Key Responsibilities
• Feeding and caring for calves
• Monitoring calf health and reporting any concerns
• Mixing milk and preparing feed
• Cleaning and maintaining calf sheds and equipment
• Assisting with general farm and shed duties
• Operating a quad bike to carry out daily tasks
• Following animal welfare, health and safety, and hygiene procedures
What We're Looking For
• Reliable, honest, and punctual
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good attention to detail
• Must be confident and competent riding a quad bike
• Must have at least basic farming experience or an understanding of the dairy or calf rearing industry. Previous calf rearing experience is preferred.
Hours of Work
• Fixed-term position from now until October
• Full-time, 5 days per week
• Rostered to work every second weekend, with approximately 5 hours per day on rostered weekends
