LeaderBrand was established in 1975 by Murray McPhail when he took over the family sheep and cattle farm, converting it to grow his first crop of potatoes. With some grit, ingenuity and a whole lot of hard work, LeaderBrand evolved from a small family venture to New Zealand’s leading horticulture business,

Meet Lyss 👋 One of the absolute legends in our People & Culture team. Lyss has just celebrated 5 years with the LeaderBrand whānau 🥳 She started her journey as a Fresh Cut Shift Manager before stepping into her current role as our Fresh Cut Employee Experience Coordinator, and she’s been a massive part of our people journey ever since.

From recruitment and onboarding to supporting our crew across the business, Lyss loves seeing it all come together, whether that’s filling a role, supporting managers, or helping new starters feel right at home 💚 Her favourite part of working at LeaderBrand? The resilience. Whether it's cyclones, road closures or seasonal pressure, our team always finds a way, and working across different areas has given Lyss a real appreciation for that grit and teamwork.

No two days are ever the same in agriculture, and that’s exactly what she loves. From tech and automation to logistics, HR, operations and growing, there's something for everyone. 🚜🌱 And her favourite LeaderBrand product? Rocketslaw 🚀 A recent top‑spot switch… especially ironic considering she never used to like rocket. Turns out it is just that good. 😏🥗

It's Tractor Tuesday 🚜 and Richard's at our Future Farm on our Electric Harvester. We're always looking for ways to farm sustainably and electric machinery is becoming more common on the farm. Electric is good for the environment and the crop. It's also quieter for our team in the greenhouse and better for your wallet. 🌱
