Year 3 of our basket willow (common osier) Salix viminalis 'Gigantea'. It's such a beautiful fibre to handle and is a tidy crop to manage. I'm thinking of building a few wind shelter and living fence structures this year. Is anyone else interested in growing basket willow and creating garden structures? together

Wrapping up our winter event, showcasing 'The Taranaki Loaf' for

Our second and event was held at , a beautiful rural venue in Urenui. Guests were welcomed by Fiona and Maria in the forest dell at dusk with mulled nashi pear and 'hetlina' apple juice .. followed by a Vegetarian Feast showcasing 13 growers and producers from Taranaki.

Thanks to the team of Taranaki seedsavers, growers and producers to wrap up the Taranaki Grain Project at 'The Taranaki Loaf', launch of the Slow Food Supper Club.
It was an evening of storytelling, connection and delicious local food, sourced from 13 backyards, micro farms, orchards and medal winning cheeses from .
Miriam White framed the project using the history of wheat in Taranaki as the backdrop to an awesome evening! grew 'rouge de bordeaux' wheat, ground the grain and made the bread
