Newest addition to our sire team… Glenbrae Wills 2498 arrived last night after making the big trip from Porangahau to Waihi Beach!

A super easy doing, well marked bull with plenty of depth and softness, along with structural soundness and a bomb proof temperament. He comes with a stellar high performance dataset, paired with a strong, reliable pedigree behind him, including breed greats like Streaker and Techno!

Really looking forward to getting him out with some cows in a few months and to see what he can add to the herd in the coming years!! 🤩

2026 is quickly flying by and we now have less than 3 months to go till our Annual Yearling Bull Sale!

We have a brilliant line of 43 bulls to put forward this year that are all steaming ahead and well on track for sale day, set to take place on September 3rd.

Looking forward to having the bulls carcase scanned in a couple of weeks and then it’ll be straight into preparing the catalogue!!

Shifting our mob of 57 younger mixed aged cows this morning, all looking in great condition! We’re about 5 months into having Halter collars on the cows and so far they’re working really well, especially by enabling cows to graze paddocks more efficiently and for longer.

The whole cow herd will be through the yards next week for pre calving checks as we get ready for our first calves due to arrive in just under a month’s time! Very busy and exciting times ahead!!

Nice to see the sun after a wet and windy few days. Standing out in the paddock this morning was a young Angus heifer we’re very excited about…

Maranui Silky W12, born in July 2025, is a daughter of Twin Oaks Tank T059 and out of our top Angus cow, Silky Q956, one of the original foundation females we purchased from Te Atarangi Stud in 2021. W12 is phenotypically outstanding! Very deep bodied and thick with exceptional width behind, all carried on a sound structural base. She’s also super docile, which has made halter breaking, washing and a bit of clipping over the past few weeks a breeze!

There is a whole lot of potential in this heifer and we are really looking forward to her future!

Captured this pic of 8 month old Maranui Franklin 2513 earlier today. This young bull has been a standout from birth and one we are very keen to keep a close eye on over the next few months.
Sired by Maranui Fireball and out of a top performing, big bodied 7 year old dam. Franklin 2513 sums up exactly what we strive to breed! He is super stylish and carries a great combination of length, depth and thickness, very docile along with a great set of balanced data!

A wet and rainy start to the morning spent checking on our 2026 yearling bull sale team and then the replacement heifer calf mob. It’s now been a month since we’ve weaned and all the calves are steaming ahead! Very happy with what we have selected this year, a lot of consistency right throughout!!

A fantastic day out attending the 2026 Morrinsville A&P Show! It has been quite a number of years since we’ve had Maranui cattle in the showring, so a pretty special day to see the return! Luke has spent the past few months preparing 2 of our rising 2 year old incalf Hereford heifers (Leonora 240565 & Regal 240582, both Milton S420 daughters!)

We are really pleased with how everything went & VERY proud of Leonora 240565 who in some very strong classes took out Champion British Breeds Junior Female, Champion All Breeds 2024 Born Heifer & Reserve Champion All Breeds Junior Female!

Big thanks to Morrinsville A&P for putting on such a great event!!

Nice evening to walk amongst the mixed aged cows with bull calves, only a couple days left till weaning! Maranui Milton 2517 is a calf we think has a bright future ahead! Very well marked with plenty length & spring of rib paired with an outstanding set of data. He is the 3rd calf from his dam who has produced a stud son & a retained daughter. For 2026 she has scanned in-calf via AI to Limehills Belter 210473!
