One week to go!

Lee and I can’t wait to see our return customers and meet new fellow dahlia and flower lovers Kinloch Market (Labour Weekend)!

I still have a few crates to go but our prep is going great!

This year Haidee Matheson have on offer…

- tubers for over 24 dahlia varieties.
- pre-sprouted dahlias and dahlia cuttings (limited supply and varieties)
- plants

And of course (weather permitting)…

- fresh cut blooms

As always, we can hold your purchases as you shop and you can collect them when you are ready to head home.

This year we have introduced electronic payment options as well as cash.

Funny story about these, when s**t goes down but some have a will to live, and the human grower has less hair😅🤣

After, I gave these pretties a fungal spray and felt great I was onto it. They looked a little sad afterwards.

As they recovered, I thought it was water issues. So I gave them a little more spray a few weeks later. Just to make sure I combated the demons of flower failure🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeh nah. They went down hill again😬

I then got chatting to Bruce, and he explained everything about a sprayer and their internal mechanism!

It appears that you can’t spray ranunculus even if you flush out Hydrocotyle spray, any dilution, these gals are so sensitive!

Like me “down but not out” us perennial gals have a will to live, once we are established😔🤣

This is a great space saver method I’ve seen on socials from the big cartel, so am trying it this year.

Not my preferred or usual way of staring my dahlias,. Only the ones I will plant here are being done this way.

It makes sense, but it now creates more work, recycling and sanitising plastic to reuse!

From 16 Sept until the last tulip drop on Wednesday, three weeks exactly.

When PINK blooms were purchased from Awaken Cafe Reporoa, 100% would be donated at the Pink Walk this month.

Bruce and I, along with VetPlus and their amazing support are so pleased to be able to donate $700 of PINK flower sales to such an amazing cause.

What an awesome community and without their support , this donation wouldn’t have been possible.

Thank you so much !

Reporoa has trusted and allowed me to provide them with their local flowers from my happy place🥰

Do you Love big and ruffled?

These will always be my first and last love in the flower world.

After 3 years of epic fails, my stubbornness and resilience has paid off.

Yes, I did cut her head off, the first short bloom🤣

Ranunculus are only just starting and I can’t wait to see these amazing beauties flourish before the heat sends them back to sleep.

Next year, year 6 is going to be epic!

It is going to be my main indoor and out door crop, paired with a few tulips, stock and other gorgeous blooms that do their thing in sync🥰 I can’t wait!

When you receive your flowers from Ngakuru Flower Farm.

Single variety, Market Flowers or direct order Bouquets.

Please do the following. Although, many of the flowers I grow will last beyond a week.

1. Take the paper wrapper off.
2. Trim the stems (although they have only been harvested within the past 6hrs hrs or less of delivery.
3. Put your blooms in a vase or something you love and enjoy.

Flowers, like me are free spirts, we aren’t supposed to caged. If you treat them right, they will give you more than what you ever expected🥰🥰

Behind every successful flower here, there is, a confronting reality for many others…

Is everything I grow to standard, what I call saleable? NO😅😩

I am that person who will just sell a flower stem just because I paid for the bulb or seed, even if that stem took 7 months of babysitting to flower. NOPE.

Here you see Super Parrot tulip. I harvested 4-5 and decided they weren’t up to scratch like pervious years, just like White Dream. I haven’t included either of these in anything at all this season.

Normally, I would just dump them. Shame because previously they have been great.

Here you can see, a real positive, to a real and potentially frustrating situation for me.

These are now at their new home where they can fully bloom, just as they are, without judgement. Because someone, said OMG don’t throw them out and loved them, just not me🥰
