Throughout the evening, winemaker Paul Mason will personally guide guests through each wine, sharing the story behind this remarkable vintage.

Widely regarded as a true “winemaker’s vintage”, 2021 delivered low yields, concentrated flavours, vibrant acidity, and exceptional structure — producing elegant wines that are drinking beautifully now and will continue to reward cellaring for years to come.

As a special bonus, guests will have exclusive access to purchase a limited selection of rare museum stock wines from our cellar.

We’re excited to welcome you back to our Cellar Door Dinner Series for Winter 2026 — settle in by the fire as we embark on an unforgettable evening celebrating the remarkable 2021 Martinborough vintage.

Enjoy six beautifully matched wines alongside a Japanese-inspired four-course menu crafted by renowned Chef Ant North, with each wine personally introduced by our winemaker Paul Mason.

A Stunning Result for a Stunning Wine 🍷🏆

Nga Waka is delighted to announce that the 2024 Nga Waka Lease Block Pinot Noir has won the International Pinot Noir Trophy at the 2026 International Wine Challenge, London.

Gathering a remarkable 96 points and a gold medal 🥇

The 2024 Lease Block picked up an outstanding four trophies overall:

🏆 International Pinot Noir
🏆 New Zealand Red
🏆 Martinborough Pinot Noir
🏆 New Zealand Pinot Noir

Which is why we felt compelled to share the good news, for our winery, and for Martinborough as a whole.

The outstanding achievement comes on the back of the result for Lease Block in the 2026 Cuisine Magazine annual Pinot Noir tasting ~ where the wine was awarded 5 stars ⭐️ and ranked #2 overall, confirming that this wine has truly global appeal.

At the 2026, the 2024 Lease Block is in distinguished company: only four Pinot Noirs were awarded 96 points. The other three wines being Burgundies ~ Grand Crus Corton, 1er Crus Pommard and a Gevrey Chambertin.

To see a Martinborough Pinot Noir recognised on this stage, amongst some of the wine world’s most established names, is something worth celebrating.

We’re thrilled to share that our Lease Block Pinot Noir 2024 has been awarded a Gold Medal and an outstanding 96 points at the 2026 International Wine Challenge 🙌

Even more special — it was the ONLY New Zealand Pinot Noir to receive Gold this year

This marks the third major award already for Lease Block this year, continuing an incredible run for a wine that truly reflects the character, depth and elegance of Martinborough Pinot Noir 💜
