Not sure where the horse taboo comes from, they aren’t cute but neither are they creepy - worth watching the video in this article as apparently it’s quite sweet

Personally, I think all food should be taxed the same unless you are trying to shape people's behaviour (like a Sugar Tax) but this becomes fraught very quickly and great work for tax lawyers.

What's odd about the article though is that it is advocating a "carbon tax" approach to food production which will take no account of water usage- but what's the purpose to allow consumers to feel a glow when the pay the carbon price or to feel bad that they are carbon munchers! No, it's to redistribute to everyone so fairly pointless just a straight tax on meat consumption.
It claims society will be better off-but that's not clear at all. If we just continued to eat the same but pay more for it....it wont replant the rain forest!

"Meats VAT privileges" is a great quote though!
