Position
We’re seeking to recruit a results-driven and professional Light Vehicle Mechanic for our Port Moresby office. The Light Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and performance. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance services (oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, etc.,
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure vehicles comply with regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history.
Provide technical advice to customers and explain repair requirements clearly.
Ensure workshop tools and equipment are properly maintained and used safely.
Collaborate with team members to meet service deadlines and customer expectations.
Qualifications & Experiences
Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Mechanics/Engineering (or equivalent).
Trade Test Certification or relevant vocational training.
Valid driver’s license.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
Experience working in a workshop or dealership environment preferred.
Exposure to modern diagnostic systems and computerized vehicle management tools.
