FROM THE SHADOWS | In a few hours, I will step onto the Provincial Capitol Steps to be officially sashed as Lin-ay sang Don Salvador Benedicto, proudly part of the 32 contenders for the Lin-ay sang Negros crown.

This moment represents more than a competition.

For me, it is the culmination of years of dreams, quiet preparation, and the unwavering support of the community that raised me. As I take this step, I carry with me the aspirations of my hometown and the hope of representing Don Salvador Benedicto.

This marks the beginning of a journey I have long imagined — one where I give not only my best performance, but also my heart to the stage and to the people I represent.

I am Jamaicah Bantigue. Game face on.
