A line quoted by one of the leads from one of my favorite movies ever goes something like,
"Home is a place, growing up wanting to get out of; and growing old wanting to go back to." (Quoted from Now & Then)
Currently in my half life, it feels truer than ever.
And in this heat, a bowl of ice with syrup helps! 🙂
Back when I was still living in our province this was a local treat that I could never have too much of. We called it: snow ball. I guess you can consider it the downgraded cousin of halo-halo and the con yelos 😂 Just good ole crushed ice with plain sugar syrup, usually with red food coloring (classic). Mine was green tho...pandan flavored ftw 😁
Aside from cooling down in this weather, I made it because it tastes like home. 🍧
