This week's grocery shopping actually started a few days ago.

I printed the recipes I wanted to cook, planned our meals for the week, and made my grocery list before leaving the house. It made shopping easier because I only bought what we really needed.

Today, we went to Aldi, Trader Joe's, and Smart & Final.

While working with a Jewish family, I learned many valuable life lessons, especially about being practical. They taught me that saving money is not only about buying the cheapest products. It is about planning ahead, using what you already have, and making every grocery trip worth it

For me, Aldi is the best for produce because it is more budget-friendly. Trader Joe's has a lot of great options, especially kosher products and unique ingredients. Smart & Final is where I usually buy pantry items and ingredients in bigger sizes.

Cooking at home for two really saves money. More importantly, I know exactly what goes into every meal. Fresh ingredients, less food waste, and meals prepared with care.

I also learned to think about what vegetables should be used first, what ingredients can be used in different recipes, and what I already have at home. Small habits like these make a big difference over time.

As long as I have my rice, everything is well served.

Sometimes people think grocery shopping is just another errand.

For me, it's planning, budgeting, cooking, and taking care of the people I love.

One grocery list.
Three stores.
A week of homemade meals.

And another life lesson I never expected to learn.

It all started with Spain. 🇪🇸⚽

Watching Spain lift the championship unexpectedly brought me back to one of the places that shaped my university years.

The name Intramuros comes from Spanish, meaning "within the walls." For almost four years, these streets were my second home while I studied at Lyceum of the Philippines University.

Looking through old folders, I realized I wasn't searching for landmarks.

I was searching for memories.

Here are four photographs that still remind me what Intramuros felt like.

Every place has a story, and this is where I'll share mine.

Coffee first. A promise kept. A slow walk.

Every corner felt thoughtfully put together.

Maybe that's what I loved most about the afternoon.

Nothing rushed. Nothing extravagant.

Just enough time to appreciate the little details.

Some places don't ask you to do more.

They simply invite you to notice.

619. 🤍

Welcome to Flavors & Footprints. 🤍

This little space is where I’ll share the places I visit, the food I enjoy, and the small moments that make life meaningful.

I am learning to slow down, explore, and appreciate everyday life. Sometimes you’ll find coffee shops, hidden gems, recipes, and local adventures. Other times, I’ll share stories about caregiving, personal growth, and the lessons I collect along the way.

Every place leaves a footprint.
Every meal tells a story.

Thank you for being here. I hope something you find here inspires you to explore, create memories, or simply enjoy the little things.

Welcome to the journey. ❤️
