Naturally, when Americans move to the Philippines, one question that comes up is:

Can I own or carry a firearm here? ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Unfortunately, for most foreign residents, the answer is generally no. There are some exceptions and special circumstances, but being a foreigner with a long-term visa or living in the Philippines for many years doesn't automatically give you the same firearm ownership rights you may have had in the United States.

No Matter How Remote You Go in the Philippinesโ€ฆ Youโ€™ll Find a Basketball Hoop ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

One thing I've noticed living in the Philippines is that no matter how remote you get, you'll eventually find a basketball hoop. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sometimes it's a nice, proper basketball court. Sometimes it's a hoop attached to a post, a tree, or something that looks like it was put together with whatever was available.

But somehowโ€ฆ there's always a basketball hoop. ๐Ÿ€

Basketball is more than just a sport here. For a lot of Filipinos, it's almost like a second religion. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Kids playing in the street, teenagers shooting hoops after school, neighborhood games going on late into the evening...

You can see how much basketball is woven into everyday life here.

And, I love it. However I don't play basketball ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Where's the most random place you've seen a basketball hoop in the Philippines? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

๐Ÿฅต Why The Hell Is It STILL So HOT at Night?! | Life in the Philippines ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

I woke up in the middle of the night thinkingโ€ฆ

โ€œWhy the hell is it STILL hot?!โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ”ฅ

Living here in Cagayan de Oro, I've really noticed how different the weather feels lately. Hot during the day, humid at night, and sometimes there's barely any relief when the sun goes down.

Is the weather actually changing here in Mindanaoโ€ฆ or am I just getting older and less tolerant of the heat? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Either way, something feels different. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญโ˜€๏ธ

Have you noticed it too?

Living in Cagayan de Oro, I've definitely noticed that the weather doesn't feel like it used to. It's hot during the day, humid at night, and sometimes there's barely any relief even after the sun goes down.

๐ŸŒ… Good Monday morning from Pagatpat, Cagayan de Oro City! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Out for my morning walk and, as usual, once I pull out the camera, there's always somebody who wants their picture taken. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Filipinos are usually pretty shy, but sometimes I think they forget all about that when a camera comes out. Haha. Or maybe the love of having your picture taken just wins over the shyness! ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

Either way, I have no problem snapping a photo for someone. In fact, I really enjoy it. It's one of those little things that makes walking around the city more fun.

Good Monday morning, Philippines! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Have a safe and great start to the week everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I Didn't Move to the Philippines to Recreate My Old Life ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ I wasn't looking to recreate my old life. I was looking for a new one.

I wanted to try new things, explore new places, experience a different culture, and find a slower, more peaceful way of living.

That's what the Philippines has given me. It hasn't always been perfect, but it's been an adventure I wouldn't trade for anything.

๐Ÿ’ฌ If you moved to another country, would you try to build the same life you had before, or would you start a whole new chapter?

๐ŸŒ… Good morning from the Cagayan de Oro River! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Out for my morning walk and enjoying these views along the river. It's always nice to get some exercise, get some fresh air, and just slow down for a bit and enjoy the morning.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

Have a safe and happy Sunday, everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

I Came to the Philippines to Slow Down... Not Speed Up ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ I didn't move to the Philippines because I wanted a bigger house or more stuff.

I came because I wanted to get away from the constant rush of life back home. I wanted to slow down, spend more time with my family, enjoy the outdoors, and experience a different culture.

For me, that's what living in the Philippines has always been about.

๐Ÿ’ฌ If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

Some Foreigners Want the Same Life... Just in the Philippines ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ People move to the Philippines for all kinds of reasons.

Some foreigners want the same lifestyle they had back home, just with better weather and a lower cost of living. And honestly, there's nothing wrong with that. We all want different things out of life.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What was your reason for moving to the Philippines... or what would it be?
