Planning to hike Espadang Bato in Rizal? 🥾⛰️ Here’s what I wish I knew before our first hike!

I think one of the funniest things about being a beginner hiker is seeing a trail rated 3/10 difficulty and thinking, “Okay, that sounds manageable!” 😂

And then halfway through the hike, you’re questioning every decision that led you there. 😭😂

But you know what? Despite how exhausting it was, I actually understand why people get addicted to hiking.

There’s something SO satisfying about finally reaching the top, looking at the views, and realizing you actually made it.

And for someone who’s usually planning trips around flights, hotels, restaurants, and shopping, this was such a different kind of adventure. 😂🌿

It also reminded me that we have SO many beautiful places to explore right here in the Philippines. We don’t always need to book a flight to experience something amazing.

So if you’re researching Espadang Bato for beginners, wondering how difficult the hike is, what to bring, or how much to budget for an Espadang Bato day hike, I put together everything I wish we’d known before going.

Just PLEASE don’t underestimate the weather. 😂🌧️

Now I need recommendations! What’s another beginner-friendly hiking trail near Manila that we should try next? 👀🥾

Is it just me, or have there been SO MANY airline seat sales lately?! 👀✈️

I’ve been noticing this for a while now, especially with Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines announcing promotions so frequently.

And what’s interesting is that some of our friends have also been telling us that their recent flights weren’t even full! Some had quite a lot of empty seats. 🤔

And that got me thinking...

Seat sales don’t feel as exciting as they used to. 😭😂

Remember when a seat sale announcement meant we actually had a chance of finding ridiculously cheap flights?
Now, sometimes I check the promotional fares and think... wait, THIS is the sale price?! 😭

All these little observations made me wonder if something bigger is happening with the way we’re traveling.

Of course, these are just my personal observations, and I could be completely wrong! 😂 But I wanted to share my thoughts and see if anyone else has noticed the same thing.

Are your recent flights still full? And do you also feel like seat sales aren’t as good as they used to be? 👀

I REALLY want to hear your experiences because maybe I’m just overthinking everything. 😂✈️

Planning your first trip to China? 🇨🇳✈️ Here’s how to make a China itinerary that actually makes sense!

One thing about me: I LOVE planning our trips. 😂

I could spend HOURS researching restaurants, attractions, cafés, shopping spots, and random places I discover online.

And China makes this even more dangerous because every time I open Xiaohongshu or TikTok, I somehow find another 10 places I want to visit. 😭😂

But here’s something I’ve learned after planning so many of our trips:

A good itinerary isn’t about squeezing in as many places as possible. It’s about making the most of the time you actually have.

Because what’s the point of saving money on flights and hotels if you’re spending half your vacation exhausted, rushing around, and barely enjoying the places you came to see? 😂

So for Day 2 of China Ready 🇨🇳, I’m sharing how I personally approach planning a DIY China trip, especially if you’re visiting for the first time.

And if you’re currently figuring out your China travel itinerary, whether it’s for Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, or somewhere else, I have something that might help!

💬 Comment PLAN and I’ll send you my complete travel itinerary planning checklist!

Save this for when you start planning your China trip! 🇨🇳❤️

I know the China visa is probably the part making a lot of you hesitate to book that China trip. 😭🇨🇳

I felt the SAME way.

Before I applied for mine, I was reading requirements over and over, checking other people’s experiences, and worrying that one tiny mistake would ruin the whole application. 😂

But after actually going through the process myself, it wasn’t nearly as scary as I had built it up in my head to be.

There’s paperwork. There’s preparation. And yes, you need to pay attention to the details.

But it’s doable.

So if getting a China visa is the one thing standing between you and finally planning that trip, I hope my guides make the process feel a little less intimidating. ❤️🇨🇳

Comment VISA and I’ll point you to my complete 3-part China visa guide.

China Ready: Day 1 complete. ✅

If China has been sitting on your travel bucket list because planning the trip feels WAY too complicated… this series is for you. 🇨🇳✈️

Because I get it. 😂 China is one of those destinations where the more you research, the more questions you somehow end up with.

And after three trips, I can confidently say that China is also one of those places that becomes SO much easier once you know what to expect.

That’s what I want China Ready 🇨🇳 to be.

Not just a bunch of random China travel tips, but something you can actually follow while preparing for your own trip — especially if it’s your first time.

So if China 2027 is even slightly on your mind…follow along. We’re getting China-ready together. 😂🇨🇳

And send this to the person you’re trying to convince to go to China with you. 👀✈️

What should you buy in China? 🇨🇳🛍️ And more importantly… what’s actually CHEAPER in China?

If you’re planning a China shopping list before your trip, one thing we learned is that shopping in China isn’t simply “everything is cheaper.”

There are definitely things that can be much better value in China, especially when you start looking at local Chinese brands and products that are harder or more expensive to buy in the Philippines. But there are also things I would NOT waste my luggage space on. 😂

So I put together our China shopping guide based on what we personally saw while shopping there: what we’d buy again, what surprised us with the price, and what we’d compare first before spending.

If you’re searching for things to buy in China, what to buy in China, China pasalubong ideas, Chinese brands worth buying, or what’s cheaper in China than the Philippines, save this Reel for your trip. 🇨🇳🛍️

Because your luggage space is limited. We’re not wasting 23KG on fake bargains. 😂

China regulars: what’s one thing you ALWAYS buy when you’re in China? I need ideas for our next trip. 👀

We planned our whole evening around THIS view… and got almost nothing. 😭😂🇨🇳

One thing China has taught me is that sometimes you can research a place, save all the pretty videos, put it perfectly into your itinerary…and STILL get it wrong. 😂

We genuinely thought we were about to have our ✨futuristic Shenzhen✨ moment that night. We even rearranged our plans and waited until it was dark.

Then we got there and I was like…WHERE ARE THE LIGHT?! 😭

Turns out our timing was just TERRIBLE. 😂 And this is exactly why I wanted to share this before someone else plans their Shenzhen itinerary around the same thing.

The good news is we now have an excuse to go back. 👀🇨🇳

Because I REFUSE to leave Shenzhen without seeing it like the videos. 😂

Save the Reel if ONE AVENUE is on your Shenzhen itinerary!

Only ₱50K in the bank. Does that mean your China visa will automatically get rejected? 🇨🇳👀

I completely understand why people get nervous about this because I kept hearing “You need at least ₱100K!” when I was preparing my own application too. 😭

And this is exactly why I always go back and check the actual requirements before sharing anything here.
Because sometimes something gets repeated SO MUCH online that eventually we all start treating it like an official rule. 😂

Your finances still matter, of course. But instead of obsessing over hitting one random number, I think the better question is:
Does the trip you’re presenting actually make sense for what you can afford?

I explain how I personally look at it in the Reel. ☝🏻

And if someone else will be paying for your China trip, comment SPONSORED because I think that deserves its own video. 🇨🇳✈️

Going to China soon? 🇨🇳 One of my favorite things to do when traveling is hunt for China convenience store finds — especially drinks we don’t normally see in the Philippines. 😂🥤

If you’re searching for the best drinks to try in China, I did the very important job of taste-testing 10 different Chinese convenience store drinks for you. 🫡😂

And China has SO many options. Sparkling water, fruit tea, peach oolong, lemon tea, coconut water… I could honestly spend way too long standing in front of the convenience store fridge deciding what to buy. 😭

Some I would buy again immediately. Some were definitely a try-it-once-for-the-experience situation. 😂
So if you’re planning a China trip and wondering what drinks to buy in China, save this Reel before your next convenience-store run! 🇨🇳🥤

And if you’ve been to China, tell me your favorite Chinese drink or convenience store find because I already want to make Part 2. 👀

We used to think having a “travel credit card” meant finding ONE good card and using it for everything. 😂✈️

But the more we learned about miles and points, the more we realized that different cards can actually have different jobs.

And since it’s Metrobank’s 64th anniversary, I thought it was the perfect time to share how we actually use our two Metrobank Card . 💳✈️

We’re not spending more just to earn points. We’re simply trying to be smarter about which card we use for money we were already going to spend anyway.

Because if our everyday spending can eventually help take us somewhere new… your Travel Budgetarian is definitely taking advantage of that. 😂✈️

Happy 64th anniversary, Metrobank! 🎉💙

Now should I make Part 2 showing how many points you actually need to redeem a flight? 👀
