Peach Coffee Cake
It’s called coffee cake because it’s traditionally meant to be eaten with coffee not because coffee is necessarily an ingredient. ☕🍰
The name comes from the European tradition of serving a sweet, crumbly cake alongside coffee during a morning or afternoon break. Over time, “coffee cake” became a general name for cakes that pair well with coffee.
In the U.S., coffee cake usually means a moist cake with cinnamon, streusel, nuts, or fruit, and most versions contain no coffee at all.
So basically: coffee cake = cake for your coffee, not cake made of coffee! 😄☕
