The Dream
This project was conceptualized many years ago, from the humble concept of rearing animals that adhere to western and modern ways of animal husbandry. It was a really hard leap for the proprietors (brothers) to stick to what we think that will be more beneficial and practical or should we go into the venture that would fulfill our own wants. The main consideration was providing opportunities to other people specially to the locals on which our farm was located, next was a more valiant and valid reason. Seeing that the demand for organic products in our place of operation is at an all time high , we decided to push ourselves to know more about the all natural/ organic ways of developing livestock for breeding and for meat consumption. Coming from different backgrounds that is far from the Agricultural Sector the search for knowledge and the thirst for a patented technology pushed us to research, read, ask and attend seminars that would benefit our planned future endeavor. We are planning to be one of the major players in organic produce and livestock here in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
The journey wasn’t all good and dainty , the road was paved with obstacles that prepared us for greater successes. The primary challenge was looking for a farm hand that can be available all the time, we already have people in the area but some of them were not as dedicated as the person we are entrusting our flocks right now. We were already rearing chickens starting 2011 back then as we recall we were raising about 150 chickens in our backyard , the production was for fighting c***s so it was really tedious on our part as time flies we were slowly realizing the cost and we thought back then that we need to look for other means of earning income from raising chickens. The site at first was used to raise goats while thinking for opportunities we decided to combine both goats and free ranged chickens. Deciding on the business was not that easy as we determine the initial capital that we need.
We searched for breeders that will give us quality breeders , importing and bringing the breeders to our farm gave us headaches but luckily we managed to get our hands on quality genetics and thus we are motivated to start the venture.
Now let us all join in together on this journey, we know that we have so much to learn, we are not experts but we rely on experience and other peoples expertise to thrive in this very challenging environment. Please support us, support our business to make our objective into a reality. Thank you and we are BRJ Farms.
