Today, we celebrate the 𝟓𝟎𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 of the most-awaited event in Cebu every April 27th, the 𝐊𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐧.

The commemoration of Kadaugan honors the triumph of the first Filipino hero and chieftain of Mactan, Lapu-Lapu, over the Portuguese conquistador, Magellan, during the Battle of Mactan on April 27, 1521. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀.
