Take a rare aerial look at the LRT Line 2 Santolan Depot, the central maintenance and operations facility of Metro Manila's LRT Line 2 system. Located in Pasig City, this massive rail yard serves as the heart of the railway network, where trains are stored, inspected, repaired, and prepared for daily passenger service.
Covering approximately 10 hectares, the Santolan Depot houses maintenance workshops, train stabling tracks, engineering facilities, and the Operations Control Center (OCC), which monitors and manages train movements across the entire LRT Line 2 corridor from Recto in Manila to Antipolo in Rizal.
Opened alongside the first segment of LRT Line 2 in 2003, the depot was strategically built on elevated ground to help protect critical railway infrastructure from flooding in the Marikina Valley. It is capable of accommodating multiple train sets and plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of one of the Philippines' busiest urban rail transit systems.
In this aerial drone tour, witness the extensive rail yard, maintenance facilities, train storage tracks, and operational infrastructure that keep thousands of commuters moving every day. While passengers rarely see this highly secured facility, it remains one of the most important transportation assets in Metro Manila.
