While it’s not flashy or fancy, remains one of the best spots in London for affordable, authentic Japanese food. The sashimi quality is consistently excellent, but on most lunch visits I usually go straight for a bento box — it’s unbeatable value.

This time, we switched it up with the sashimi boat, plus extra scallop and octopus… and it absolutely delivered

Save this spot for your next casual Japanese meal, and let me know what you usually order at Eat Tokyo.

The oldest French patisserie in London 🇫🇷🥐 Maison Bertaux is a true London institution and a must-visit for classic cakes and pastries done properly. This isn’t the place for trendy, over-engineered desserts — expect traditional recipes, timeless flavours, and old-school charm baked into every slice.

I’m glad I managed to try the Galette des Rois (King Cake) just before the end of January 👑 and is easily one of the best spots in London for it — rich, buttery, and exactly how it should be.

They’re also well-known for their scones, though the one we tried was a little on the dry side. Still, for French classics and a slice of London history, this place is hard to beat.

Have you been to Maison Bertaux before?

A .uk favourite has officially landed in Canary Wharf 🍝 Say hello to !

Set in a stunning space, it’s the perfect spot to unwind after a long workday with great vibes, generous portions, and seriously good Italian food. Think beautifully executed classics and Roman-style pizza. I was looking forward to trying this place out and I finally had the chance!

Don’t miss these standouts:
• Bombetta Al Tartufo (crispy fried croquettes with truffle sauce 🤤)
• Burrata Al Pesto di Basilico
• Pasta alla Vodka con Frutti di Mare (crab & clam heaven)
• Butterflied Branzino (perfectly fried seabass)
• Il Tiramisu (their iconic bestseller for a reason)

Canary Wharf just got a lot more delicious. Which Big Mamma restaurant is your go-to?

Craving Taiwanese noodles in the middle of busy London? 🍜

should be right at the top of your list, showcasing what they call “the best of Taiwan’s night market.”

Tucked away in Covent Garden, this spot delivers light, healthy, affordable and seriously flavourful Taiwanese dishes — perfect when you want something comforting without the food coma.

The menu is small, but that’s exactly the point. They focus on a handful of dishes and absolutely nail them. It’s one of my go-to spots for a quick 30-minute lunch that still feels satisfying and full of flavour.

My personal favourites:
• Chicken with Ginger & Sesame
• 12-Hour Beef with Szechuan Pepper
• Traditional Beef Noodle Soup

Have you tried Kung Fu Mama yet? If not, this is your sign 👀🍜

A true London icon 🍸 The American Bar at The Savoy isn’t just one of the longest-running bars in the city — it’s also one of the very best. From world-class cocktails to live music that sets the mood, this is timeless London at its finest.

Sip a martini in the same room once frequented by legends like Churchill, and it’s easy to see why it consistently ranks among the best bars in the world.

Don’t miss these standout cocktails:
• Tea O’clock
• The Player
• The Big Apple
• Red Carpet
• New Heights (my favorite)

Save this spot for your next cocktail night and tell me — which one are you ordering first? 🍸

Fresh off being featured on , we headed straight to in Soho. I stuck with my all-time favourite — the Corned Beef Hash Sando — but we couldn’t resist trying a few new dishes too (no regrets).

Hands down, this is the best Filipino bakery in London. The menu is incredibly inventive, which makes sense when you realise Panadera is the sister bakery to Donia, a Michelin Bib Gourmand spot.

I’ve been back to Panadera more times than I can count, and these are the dishes I’d always recommend:
• Corned Beef Hash Sando
• Chicken & Mushroom Sando
• Longganisa Sausage Roll
• Garlic Cheese Pandesal
• Ube Toast (save room for dessert 🍠)

If you’re in Soho, this is a must!

Another gem from my London coffee crawls ☕️

Tucked away just off Carnaby Street is this slightly hidden, very cute spot called — the kind of café you’d walk past if you weren’t looking for it.

I stuck with my usual Flat White (no surprises there) and it was excellent — smooth, well-balanced, and exactly what you want from a neighbourhood coffee stop. The matcha was solid too, but the coffee is definitely the star here for me.

It’s a small, intimate space, made even more charming by their curated selection of unique books for the art-inclined. Perfect for a quiet coffee, a browse, and a nice escape from the Carnaby buzz.

I don’t often gravitate towards Indian restaurants, but has completely won me over. Their lamb chops and ribeye are so good that I keep coming back for more.

Even better? It’s right in the heart of Central London, just steps away from Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden.

If you’re visiting, don’t miss these standouts:
• Amritsari Crispy Lamb Chops – the reason I return every time
• Masala Boti Rubbed Ribeye
• House Tandoor Chicken
• Black Dhal

As the name suggests, it’s a Tandoor Chop House, so it’s no surprise that most of my favourites come straight from the tandoor 🔥

Let me start by saying this: I still think Med Salleh Kopitam is the best Malaysian restaurant in London. So when I found out that .london had opened a Vietnamese restaurant, I was equal parts surprised and very excited. Of course, I had to check it out.

I’m glad I did. Several dishes really stood out — the fried chicken wings were dangerously moreish, the beef pho was deeply comforting, and the grilled whole squid came with a proper spicy kick (consider yourself warned 🌶️).

Here’s everything we tried, and honestly, not a single miss:
• Hand-crafted summer rolls
• Fried chicken wings
• Grilled whole squid (served whole, then chopped tableside)
• Special beef rib pho
• King prawns pho

Great food, generous portions, and excellent value for money. If you’re a fan of Med Salleh’s cooking, this Vietnamese spin is absolutely worth a visit.

You probably know as that effortlessly cool brunch spot — but what you might not know is that they also open for dinner, and when the sun goes down, the menu also shines!

This was my first visit, so brunch is definitely on my to-do list next, but here’s what we tried for dinner:

• Roast stone bass with Tokyo turnip & tops, pak choi, and a chilli ginger dressing
• Bill’s green chopped — turmeric cauliflower, purple daikon, cavolo nero, cucumber, butter lettuce, red quinoa & wasabi green goddess
• Yellowtail crudo with mandarin, fennel & Sussex coriander seed dressing
• Shiitake & water chestnut dumplings with salted black bean & white soy
• Winter tomatoes with whipped tofu, grilled spring onion, pine nuts, saffron & longan dressing

The starters genuinely surprised me — light, fresh, and full of flavour. I’d happily go back just for the yellowtail crudo and those winter tomatoes with whipped tofu alone.

The mains were solid and satisfying, especially the Asian-inspired stone bass and the vibrant green salad — comforting yet still refined.

Have you tried Granger & Co for dinner, or have you only been for brunch? Would love to hear what you think
