October 23, 2025 – The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) continues to expand its frontiers in education, research, and community service with the establishment of five new research and innovation centers, officially approved by the ASCOT Board of Trustees (BOT). This milestone brings the total number of institutional centers to fifteen (15), a remarkable achievement realized under the visionary leadership of ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes.

The creation of these new centers reinforces ASCOT’s mission to foster innovation rooted in Aurora, empowering its faculty, researchers, and students to explore solutions that merge scientific advancement, cultural identity, and sustainable development.

The five newly approved centers are:
𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗢𝗙) under the School of Arts and Sciences, focusing on fermentation science and local resource utilization for food innovation.

𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗖)– under the School of Agricultural Sciences, promoting sustainable honeybee and stingless bee production and biodiversity awareness.

𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗖𝗕𝗜𝗗) – under the School of Accountancy and Business Management, supporting startups and cultivating entrepreneurial skills among students and local enterprises.

𝗔𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗧 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗦) – under the School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, pioneering geospatial research, forest mapping, and environmental monitoring technologies.

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗟𝘂𝗶𝘀 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗠𝗟𝗤𝗙𝗟𝗖)
– under the School of Education, strengthening the study and preservation of the Filipino language and national heritage.

Dr. Reyes emphasized that these Centers are part of ASCOT’s broader vision to position the college as a regional hub for innovation and sustainability, grounded in Aurora’s local wisdom and resources.

Beyond the newly approved hubs, ASCOT’s growing network of 15 research and innovation centers also includes several established units that continue to make significant academic and developmental contributions:

𝗔𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗧 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗔𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗖)– providing quality assurance and academic assessment services.

𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 – preserving and promoting the province’s cultural and historical identity through archival and research work.

𝗕𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 – advancing agricultural and environmental innovations through applied field research.
Center for Educational Research and Resource Development Services (CERRDS) – enhancing instructional practices and educational resource development.

𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗥𝗔𝗠) 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿– fostering creativity and innovation in robotics, prototyping, and 3D printing.

𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗔𝗠𝗥𝗖) – supporting marine biodiversity conservation and coastal resource management.

𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗧 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 (𝗖𝗦𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗥) –spearheading research in software development, digital innovation, and information technology.

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 – focusing on the propagation and development of high-value crops for agricultural sustainability.

𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿– exploring nanotech applications for science, environment, and industry.

𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 – 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻 – preserving indigenous knowledge systems and supporting IP communities through research and engagement.

With its growing number of research and innovation hubs, ASCOT stands as one of Central Luzon’s dynamic academic institutions, bridging tradition and technology, and ensuring that innovation continues to take root where it matters most: in the heart of Aurora.

September 25, 2025 – The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) celebrates another milestone in academic quality as three of its programs achieved Level III Re-accredited Status from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc.

In a letter addressed to ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes, AACCUP confirmed the accreditation of the following programs:

Bachelor of Elementary Education
Bachelor of Science in Forestry
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (majors in Crop Science and Animal Science)

With these recognitions, four ASCOT programs now hold accredited status at Level III, reflecting the College’s sustained commitment to quality education and reinforcing its continuing efforts toward full universityhood.

🐝 Aurora MAC buzzing at RISE Expo 2025 🐝

Aurora Meliponiculture and Apiculture Center (Aurora MAC), under the School of Agricultural Sciences, successfully showcased sustainable beekeeping innovations on the recently concluded Research, Innovation for Sustainable Extension (RISE) Expo 2025. The exhibit featured two thriving stingless bee colonies that captivated visitors, along with informative booklets highlighting the benefits of bees for agriculture, environment, and economy. Many attendees enjoyed free stingless bee honey tasting, experiencing firsthand the unique sweetness (and sourness) these remarkable pollinators produce.
