Great Opportunity: Planting Soybeans During Rice Farming Fallow Period Offers Additional Income, Soil Enrichment!

As American farmers face challenges in growing Soybeans, a window of opportunity opens for Filipino rice farmers.

During the fallow period when rice fields are left to rest before the next planting season, government could encourage the planting of Soybeans.

This will not only provide additional income for farmers but also reinvigorate the soil because Soybeans is a nitrogen-fixing plant.

It will also reduce our dependence on imported Soybeans.

The key to the success of this program is for the Dept. of Agriculture to provide seeds and the National Food Authority to buy farmers Soybeans production, along with rice and corn.

Soybeans, which has a protein content of 36%, is one of the most important components in poultry and animal feeds formulation.
