Repaired this KitchenAid Heavy Duty mixer sent by an old client from Ormoc, Leyte! 💕

During initial testing, the unit was still running, but had an unusual burnt smell. Upon further assessment, we found out that the armature motor and the field coil had burnt windings, which explained the smell during initial testing.

We replaced the armature motor and field coil to save the unit, also did general maintenance while we’re at it to make it run as good as new ✨

Repaired this 110V KitchenAid Classic mixer sent all the way from Pampanga!

This brand new mixer was accidentally plugged into a 220V outlet.

As discussed with the client, it’s usually case-to-case when these models get mistakenly plugged into a 220V outlet. Usually, it’s the board that gets damaged. Sometimes, the back part just needs repair and adjustment.

However, it was different for this one. For the first time, we encountered a damaged armature motor upon thorough assessment. The balancer of the governor assembly detached and hit the windings of the armature, which resulted to a damaged the armature motor.

We replaced the defective armature, and the unit is now running perfectly again—just like it was never repaired. 😊

Did a full restoration and conversion on this KitchenAid Solid State mixer brought to us all the way from from Tagaytay 💕

This classic unit was originally manufactured back in 1982. The client initially planned to have it repainted, but eventually decided to go all the way with a complete restoration and 110V to 220V conversion.

We replaced the major parts like armature motor, field coil, and phase control board to fully convert it to 220V.

Repaired this KitchenAid Heavy Duty mixer sent all the way from Marikina! 💕

Upon inspection, we found that the armature motor needed replacement as the commutator was already badly worn out.

In the video, you can see the difference between an armature motor that was used with an aftermarket carbon brush and a brand new motor.

This is why we do not recommend using fake or aftermarket carbon brushes. We often see these brushes cause excessive wear on the motor, which can lead to bigger and more costly repairs later on.

While they may be cheaper, they can end up doing more harm than good to your mixer.

For the safety and longevity of your KitchenAid mixer, we always recommend using genuine Whirlpool/KitchenAid carbon brushes 😊

Repaired this KitchenAid Artisan mixer sent to us from Makati!

The client reported that smoke was coming out from the mixer head. Upon checking, we found that the RF filter was badly burnt.

We suspect that water may have entered the unit, which caused the RF filter to burn.

We bypassed the RF filter and did general maintenance while we’re at it.
