Non-compassionate self:
“It’s just a rhino horn. If people are willing to pay for it, what’s the big deal?”

Compassionate self:
“A rhino is a living, sentient being—not a horn, a trophy, a commodity, or a status symbol.”

We used to look at wildlife without questioning the suffering behind human greed.

We didn’t understand how rhinos are relentlessly hunted and killed for their horns, which are made of keratin—the same protein found in our fingernails—and have no proven medicinal value.

We didn’t think about the families disrupted, the animals left mutilated, or the generations of rhinos being pushed toward extinction because humans placed a price on a part of their bodies.

Now, we see the whole animal—not just what humans can take from it.

Compassion means challenging the belief that animals exist for our profit, traditions, entertainment, medicine, fashion, or status.

A rhino’s greatest value is not what we can take from them. It is their right to simply live.

Let wildlife be wild. Let animals belong to themselves.
