The founder, Maricel Pomares started this business at Himaao Norte, Pili, Camarines Sur on February 3, 2012. It was the feast of St. Blaize. It was not planned that this food business should start on that day. Poma just try to gather the knowledge she know in making peanut butter. Mabesa is working. Then on the next day, she got twenty-seven orders of bottles. Thinking that this will be big, she tried to offer it to the bakeries around the market of Pili town. Fortunately one bakery (among the ten stores) responded positively. At first they ordered 10 bottles, then 20 bottles and 30 bottles. The results are overwhelming. But then the cash flow is not that fast. Then an idea came that it might make a name in Makati City to where Maricel stayed for more than five years. On May 13, Maricel braved herself to go back to the city where she was formed spiritually. With faith that her product would be a hit. But doubts came in. She tried to apply in many companies to have a job. But because her heart is already in the business, she declined to some of the job offers she applied for. Still she continue to apply for job even there are two opposing forces within is going on. One day, on April 2, 2012, after a job interview she stopped by a bakery at Kalentong, Manila. She tried to offered her product, the homemade peanut butter. Instantly the owner ordered 30 bottles. A customer heard about the product and also asked Maricel to supply the product to her. It was a wake up call to Maricel. That moment she felt that God's voice is talking to her that the product has a market and has a demand. With what happened immediately she threw the idea of applying for job. It was the turning point of her life. She faced the challenge and go to her dreams of having a company that will give jobs to the people. To this day, the product is regularly consumed by her co-members in the several charismatic communities in Makati City. The feedback are inspiring. One friend of Maricel admitted that she is not eating peanut butter but when she tasted the product, POMA Foods peanut butter is now her favorite spread. Aside from that this peanut butter does not feed the body alone, it feeds the soul too. Every batch of peanuts are made with joy, the bottles are pasted with the word of God. One of the seller said that they offered it to the Born- Again Christians, they bought it and got the best message they needed.
