Born in Cyprus, but having spent most of his life in New York, Chef Al started in the culinary industry by cooking on private yachts and motorboats. Chef Al trained in the San Francisco Culinary Institute, studied traditional Italian recipes in Tuscany, Italy, and took up Culinary History in City College of London. He then made his entrance to the New York food scene through his Mediterranean spec

ialties. As an experienced chef, culinary historian, and lecturer, Chef Al has worked internationally across various culinary institutions and restaurants in New York, London, Greece, Turkey, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Morocco. In the last four years, he has gallivanted throughout Southeast Asia—working both as a chef and a luxury hotel kitchen instructor. And now, he is Chef de Cuisine at Alimento—serving authentic Italian and Mediterranean cuisine.
