A big and powerful typhoon is coming to the land, as large as the whole country.
But this does not stop us from planting. Weekends are full packed with 30 avocados, 15 guyabano from Gloria (much thanks for youe generosity), and about 20 pomegranates.

Stay safe everyone!

We have enquiries about farm visits. However, Pattiefarm is closed to visitors due to our Biosecurity protocols. We have farm animals on pastures and they prefer 100% silence.

When there are pastured animals growing in your farm, it is very hard to grow plants. This is our constant struggle. But there's one tree that overcomes this. GUAVA is farm animal resilient, meaning the cows don't eat, ducks and geese and othees.
To date, we have 30 different varieties of native guava out from crosspollination and bird droppings.
Now scaling 2 of our favorite varieties. One with the yellow green pulp and the one one green pulp. The inner pulp are both pink that tastes so sweet.
All our visitors here enjoy picking guava fruits, just like the old, childhood days.

Jane Goodall has been a huge influence in how we raise animals at the farm. We believe that animals are individuals and have their own personalities. They have their own quirks, and each animal deserve a space in our hearts.

Death can be frightening.
But what if I tell you that while many think of death as a dark moment, death can be beautiful too?
Today, we have witnessed a herd impact- A mama cow's death. While she was fighting for her dear life, she felt that destiny was calling. So on her last drink of molasses, she wept , I saw the tears from her eyes. And it was too fascinating. Who would ever think animals have this deep feelings just like us humans. But time and time again, the animals here esp the cows have a very quiet yet a profoundly deep presence. Their existence light, their walks, graceful and their souls pierce right through yours even at a distance.
I have grown so much attached to cows and have devoted time and effort understanding them and fighting for their freedom--- because many are still in shackles, in dark dingy barns and so many do not have adequate water and left to pass out in the extreme summer heat. They are often unheard, unseen and misunderstood.
Yet today, I fully understood their being with a simple gesture- as one by one, the cows kissed Pretty goodbye. One, by one they paid their last respects. And in the stillness of the daylight, they were mourning at a distance, knowing fully well that it is just a matter of time before she breathes her last. Of course, yoi won't see this if these cows are in confined operations. Here, they can be themselves. Their personalities shine.
And this is it. A beautiful death. A cow's life that is well lived. As she gazes through , I assured her that her calf will be well taken cared of just like how we took care of her.

Pretty, you will always be remembered...

Jackfruit is a forage alternative to feeding cows especially in the dry season.
It is a fast growing fruit tree that you can harvest in 2-3 years.

Happy farming!

With all the world's uncertainties, there's so much sense of freedom that the farm gives.

Just having a good chill with the guava girls for now. 😍

Unlocking Sector 2.

This video answers some of the common questions we get asked:

1. Why we do not till the whole area?
2. Why is there no vermiculture facility?
3. Why is it important to keep the weeds and the soil covered?
4. How do you feed your chickens?

Everything we do is a step towards sustainability.

Farming and gardening all starts in a good soil. Everything is about the soil.

For two years, we have been developing the cultivating NOT plants but a good soil that can hold plants well.

One friend asked me, do you do vermiculture? I said no.
"We do not hold the worms in one dark place.
We treat the whole farm so that worms can thrive anywhere around
The whole area is a vermicultured, with loads of worms for the plants and for the chickens."

For us, This is sustainability.
