A piece of home in our farm 🌲
We wanted to create a mini pine forest close to our kubo on top of a hill, but we were not sure if Benguet pine trees would grow and survive in the very hot and humid weather of Quezon Province. To find out, we bought a few seedlings from the Baguio Orchidarium when we visited on April of 2021.
This pine tree was just a foot long when we planted it, and now 2 years later, it’s about 8 feet tall! So I guess the answer is YES, pine trees do grow out here even if the weather is not as cool as in Baguio City. 😁 Now we’ll surely plant more. 🌲
NOTES:
- We have reddish soil and clay in some parts
- Notice this pine is now taller than the coconut behind it
