The Genki Encounter 🍣💛

From SM Baguio’s chilly breeze to the bright yellow signs of Genki Sushi, we told ourselves, “Let’s just check it out real quick.”

Fast-forward a few minutes later… we were glued to the conveyor belt, eyes sparkling like we just found treasure. Every plate felt like a small celebration — from fresh tuna to garlicky shrimp goodness. 🥢✨

Suddenly, the cold didn’t matter. The tired feet didn’t matter.
Because once the sushi started rolling in… everything felt worth it. 😌

Sometimes, the best food adventures happen when you follow your cravings. 🍣💛

Today’s chicken quest took us to two stops — and oh boy, the results were spicy. 👀

First up, Tolit’s Peri Peri Hot Chicken.
Tender? Yes.
Juicy? Absolutely.
Flavor? …let’s just say it chickened out. 🐔💨
We were waiting for that fiery peri peri punch, but it never showed. A respectable 7/10, but definitely not the flavor knockout I had in mind.

Then came Sanrisa’s Parmesan Chicken..
and wow, it walked in like it owned the place. Crispy fried coating, still juicy inside, and that parmesan flavor? Cheesy in all the right ways. Honestly, it deserves a crown. 👑
A full 10/10 from us — worth the price!

End of the day, one chicken whispered… the other sang opera. 🎶🐔

From BSA Twin Towers, we confidently said, “Let’s just walk, it’s nearby!”

Fast-forward a few blocks later… our legs were questioning all our life choices. But the moment we stepped inside Yūgen, the tiredness disappeared.

The warm, inviting ambiance, the beautifully plated dishes, made every step worth it. 🥢✨

Sometimes, the best food adventures start with a little unexpected cardio. 🍣

The Rosu Rush 🐷🍚

Had a quick lunch date with the wifey, but we were on a tight budget. 😅

Funny thing, one of the Yabu staff shared a genius hack: order just one katsu set plus a refillable set. That refillable set comes with unlimited Japanese rice, miso soup, shredded cabbage, and watermelon.

End result? Our bill was under ₱800 and our tummies were very happy. We even topped it off with an ice-cold Coke for that ultimate, satisfying finish. 😋

Final take: 8/10 – crispy, juicy, and a budget-friendly trick we’ll definitely use again.

Gyu Had Me at First Slurp 🥩🍜

We tried Ramen Nagi’s limited-edition Gyu King made with Bolzico beef during the time it was offered — and wow, it did not disappoint. 🥹

The broth is rich and comforting (classic Nagi), but the real star? That Bolzico beef. Tender, flavorful, and honestly melts in your mouth. It gives the whole bowl this elevated, bougie-but-worth-it vibe. 😌

It’s not your usual umami-bomb ramen — this one leans more into that beefy, premium richness. And for that alone, we’d say it’s worth a try while it lasts.

✅ Rating: 8/10 — Solid, satisfying, and lowkey hoping they bring it back again. 😖

First Bite: Spice and Everything (Almost) Nice

There’s something exciting about a first. First steps, first flights, first bites — they set the tone for the journey ahead. And so begins our food journey, with a visit to Spice, tucked right in the heart of a buzzing casino. 😉

The service was warm and the portion generous, but the dish lacked the depth and fragrance that makes Hainanese chicken rice truly memorable. A shared 6/10 — not bad, but not quite worth the elevated casino price tag. 💸

It filled our stomachs, but not quite our souls.

Still, it’s just the beginning. Every food journey has its hits and misses — let’s see where the next bite takes us. 💓
