The Rehearsal: Treasures of SOX x Dante Mana & Likha sa Kamay held at Ayala Center Cebu.

Today, my fellow Rotarians—Che Valencia, Vanessa Uy—and my daughter took on a bold challenge, joining esteemed models from Luzon and Visayas in a daring and meaningful role modeling event. For many of us, this was a first—perhaps once in a lifetime.

We did it for a purpose greater than ourselves: to champion the women of SOX, especially those from South Cotabato. This was our way of bringing attention to the artistry of our dreamweavers and the handmade creations born from Likha sa Kamay.

Likha sa Kamay: Empowering Women of SOX and Mt. Matutum

Likha sa Kamay is a livelihood initiative launched by SG Farm in partnership with the Rotary Club of Dadiangas and artisan Dante Mana. It aims to empower women from SOX and the Mt. Matutum area by providing them the opportunity to create handcrafted products from home.

Mothers and women artisans are trained to blend traditional Blaan techniques with modern craftsmanship—producing woven accessories and textiles that not only reflect their rich cultural heritage but also create sustainable income.

This program allows women to work without leaving their families, giving them a source of financial independence while nurturing pride and stability in their homes and communities.

Likha sa Kamay is a testament to the power of creativity, culture, and community coming together to drive real change—uplifting women and preserving the spirit of SOX one handmade piece at a time.
