As I grow older, I finally understand why our mothers would spend dedicated time in the kitchen, lovingly making something khud se for others.
We’d say, “Yaar Ami, raaste mein cake le lein gay,” but nahi — that degchi of biryani, haleem, or nihari was a must.

Cooking for someone is a language of love.

Ever since summer break started, life’s been a whirlwind—juggling screen time battles with a curious preschooler (how do 4-year-olds even find stuff they arent supposed to watch?!), surviving the heatwave, and hopping between shopping sprees, sales, tailor khwari, Eid madness, and oh yes… a Sajjad Ali concert

Being a full-time mom, homemaker, remote worker, and everything in between theworldofzoya isn’t easy—but it’s also the part I love most. 💛
