There’s a friendly competition going on at home lately —
between Mama and Massab — both convinced they make the best Khausay bowl. 🍜

There are two kinds of people:
1️⃣ The ones who love their yellow curry mild and simple — that’s Massab’s team.
2️⃣ And then there’s the other lot — who can’t resist adding everything in excess, layering spice over spice until it’s gloriously fiery — that’s Mama’s style. 🌶️🔥

But honestly, there’s no perfect way to make a Khausay bowl — it’s all about what brings you comfort. 💛

Everyone probably saw my mom’s adorable announcement of “Khao Khausay hitting 100 orders!” I was actually thinking of a cool way to announce it, maybe a fancy steaming bowl shot with a cliché caption but then I woke up to this chat in my family group and knew instantly: this is it. This is what it’s all about.

My OGs. My backbone. My family. ❤️ The ones who’ve stood by me in this Lahore heat chopping veggies, doing last-minute grocery runs, and even handling deliveries when riders aren’t available.

And a special shoutout to my house help, Alia— the first person who believed in this dream with me, bearing my meltdowns and helping me survive that hot kitchen. Couldn’t have done it without her!

Alhumdulilah, we’ve crossed 100 orders in just 1.5 months. What started casually in July has now turned into something so close to my heart. 100 might not sound huge compared to big businesses, but for me, it means family time, sweet customers, and hearing the most amazing stories from delivery riders and vendors along the way.

Thank you to all my amazing customers who trusted me, supported me, and gave honest feedback, especially my repeat customers who keep coming back for more (you know who you are!).

I don’t know how long this will go on, but right now, I’m loving every second and praying to serve many more bowls of happiness soon. 🍜

Went outside and found my mother, the one who introduced me to Khausay, sitting in the rain, quietly enjoying a bowl I made.

It’s funny how so much of what we love comes from our mothers without us even realizing it.
For me, it was Khausay.

A dish I grew up loving because she made it with so much heart. And today, she’s the one enjoying my version of it. 🥹

Nothing could be more beautiful than this full circle. 💛

She taught me the recipe, the feel of it and now, she’s proudly watching me share it with all of you.

She lights up every time I tell her someone loved the Khausay, probably even more than I do.

It’s still her recipe, after all. 🍜
