Prior to the fermentation phase, horses or burros are commonly used for pulling the tahona to crush the cooked agave, but .4j works with these two beautiful bulls to get the job done. Whether they’re working or relaxing, they carry a very calming yet majestic pose, a sight not commonly seen in the agave spirits world.

We’re finally able to catch a breather after the whirlwind of these last few days. We had a blast at the Tequila Mezcal Festival in Gdańsk as it proved to be very successful for our soft launch into the market for the first time.

We want to thank all of the participants that made this experience enjoyable and for attending our Agave Spirits 101 Masterclass.

We want to thank  for a great first showing and we’re already looking forward to 2026 😁

We want to thank our friends for joining us over the weekend and helping us pack up everything after the event ended late Saturday night.

And most of all we want to thank the producers behind these great products (.4j   ) and to  for working magic to get these to us in time for the event.

The saying „mezcal is tequila’s smoky cousin” is problematic in more ways than one, and if you’re curious to know why, join us for our Agave Spirits 101 class on Saturday, May 17th, at the in Gdańsk, Poland. There, we will provide a high-level yet intriguing overview of agave spirits in general (mostly mezcal though) and share samples of mezcal from three artisanal brands made of 100% agave. Saludos! 🥃

There are many reasons why we love working with but one of them is that they’re always there to help out whenever needed. We needed some urgency regarding an export of their mezcal this past week and it wouldn’t have been possible with their ability to get things turned around quickly. We’re truly excited to be able to share their mezcal with Poland soon, more details coming about this in the next few days.

There’s a handful of new followers on this page, so we’d like to reintroduce ourselves 👋 we are Pikantna Agawa, an agave spirits import company based in Kraków with a strong emphasis on education and quality. We primarily focus on producer- or community-owned brands - some of whom have become friends over these last few years - and to say we feel honored to share their mezcal with the world would be an understatement. We hope this page brings you knowledge and joy of the wonderful things to learn about Mexico 🇲🇽♥️

Coming soon to Poland: mezcal made by some of our favorite people - Cuca and Rodrigo Cortés from Miahuatlán, Oaxaca! We’re beyond excited about this not only because of how delicious their mezcal is, but also because this brings together our two homes: Mexico and Poland. 👋🏼 how’s everyone doing? We took a little bit of a hiatus but I’m happy to say that we’re back and ready to rock and roll! Earlier in the year we had the pleasure to spend a few days with the Yautepec community that supports one of the brands we’ll be carrying in our initial portfolio. We can’t share any details just yet but we’ll be able to very soon. Stay tuned!
