Sake is often misunderstood as one style.
It isn’t.

From precise and aromatic to wild and experimental,
this lineup shows how wide the spectrum really is.

Some are made to impress.
Some are made to sit quietly next to food.
Some don’t care about tradition at all.

That’s where it gets interesting...

Keigetsu “CEL-24” Junmai Daiginjo
Explosive aromatics—melon, pear, white peach.
Silky, slightly sweet, almost weightless.

Rokkasen (R3)
Less about aroma, more about balance.
Soft fruit, gentle umami, clean finish.

Junmai-style (bear label)
Earthy, savory, grounded.
Rice, nuts, a hint of umami depth.

Hanakaze (Rice & Hop)
Floral, citrusy, slightly bitter.
Where sake meets craft beer.

Ine to Agave Brewery
Lactic, funky, alive.
Closer to natural wine than classic sake.

These are called komodaru — traditional Japanese sake barrels wrapped in straw.

While they were once used to store and transport sake, today they are mostly symbolic, often seen at shrines and ceremonies as offerings for good fortune.

An evening of wine, stories, and unexpected flavors 🙌🏻

Back at for an wine tasting & tapas event hosted by 🍷

This time, took the stage. Four wines, each with its own story, each worth the attention.

A rosé from Tinta Cão turned out to be the quiet surprise of the night, elegant taste from the Douro Superior.

But the 2023 Tinto Colheita… that was the one for me. Balanced and expressive.

Good wine, good food, and the kind of conversations that make you stay a little longer than planned.

Locals know… it’s all about Tinto de Verano ☀️

✨ Simple. Refreshing. Authentic.

Here’s how to make it:

🥤 1 part red wine (something young and fruity)
🥤 1 part lemon soda (or sparkling water + a splash of lemon)
🥤 Lots of ice
🥤 Lemon or orange slices (I prefer orange)

Give it a gentle stir, sit back, and enjoy like you’re in Spain 🇪🇸
