In November 2006 a group of 89 formidable and high profile Qatari investors who have the business acumen in identifying major opportunities for business growth; who share the same drive and vision aimed at putting their resources in a worthwhile business venture, came together to form Wataniya Restaurants Q.S.C. The vision of the shareholders was to create a company that would bri
ng exceptional dining experiences to rapidly growing Qatari Market. Qatar’s explosive economic boom, coupled with the high numbers of expatriate workers moving to Qatar, created a tremendous opportunity for Wataniya. The shareholders established the company with one-hundred-million Qatari Riyal (QAR 100,000,000.00) paid in capital. Atlantic Capital was hired to establish the company and manage the initial set up and operations. First, by teaming up with some of the world’s most recognized brands, Wataniya gains considerable knowledge from its franchise partners. Since the fourth quarter of 2006, Wataniya has aggressively acquired over twenty international brands and developed five company brands for Qatar, the Gulf and the Middle East. The Company’s branding strategy targets fast food, casual, family, themed and formal customers. Catering to customer’s price points and preferences, whether they choose, Italian, Lebanese, Mexican, and Asian, Seafood or fine steakhouse. Wataniya has invested over QR 30,000,000 on territory, development and franchisee fees. Wataniya’s branding strategy insures that the company offers a diverse dining experience in a variety of market segments.
