AND NOW the big day has come :
Last day of the summer season.
Time to say a big huge THANK YOU FOR THIS SUMMER. I guess we should start with the hardest working people out there EVER : the Annerstad Crew.
I still can’t believe how lucky we are to have them - through thick & thin.

Thank you, Roberto, Gustav & Luigi for being the backbones of it all.
Working like machines, focusing on making it through so many orders and so high demands - NON-STOP !!!
Thank you to ALL our summer staff, you have no idea how proud we are to have you around.
Thank you to all of you loyal guests and visitors. Thank you, dearest builders.
Thank you Ljungby kommun for guiding us through bureaucratic jungles. Thank you dear family & dear bonus family (friends) !
Thank you Lina for sending us so many travellers stopping by on their way through Sweden. And thank you dear journalists, bloggers and influencers who have helped us spread the word.

After having worked 7 days a week for the last 10 weeks, I guess we should be longing for some holiday.
But as a matter of fact, we’re not really.
Jesper’s and my quality time goes into discussing what we need to improve for next year.
Work life balance ? Not really.
But we are very grateful that we (right now) have a work which is our life….

Time to add booking details for our october-style beer tasting with the one and only Robeert (Robert Andersson ).
Yesterday I was told that I actually forgot to post about this event, so here it comes …..
SATURDAY 26TH OF SEPTEMBER FROM 17:00.

The event is all about craft beer, october style wild meat craft saussages, craft mustards and craft pretzels.
And out of personal experience I expect us to start listening to music too.

Our motorhome area is available for guests who want to stay for the night…

These wonderful boys from famous ice-hockey club Troja Ljungby were visiting us today. They liked our pizza and gelato, and they will certainly be back with more of their hockey friends…

Thank you, all Cowboy- & Cowgirl-Campers who helped us gathering back our gang this morning. What an event !
Great to see so many early morning happy people, coffee mugs in their hands.

Some sleepy guests discovered 2 of our cows standing outside of our shop, chatting away with the pigs.

When everything was back in order and all cows had found their way back to their field, two very cute girls asked me if we’ll have the same show again tomorrow morning 🫢.

Meet Esten !
Our crew member Esten is nearly 90 years old, and he has the biggest plans here in Annerstad….

First mission : life is too short to sit on the sofa - let’s move.

We met Esten ca. 10 years ago and he helped us (the big city guys) with farming issues and questions.
Since then our friendship has grown and he now even lives with us (as his family left many decades ago).

So, what is Esten’s vision ?
He would like us to build a home for cats on his farm.
Other than this his vision has always been to build a petrol station here in Annerstad right by way 25, because it’s too far to Ljungby and too far to Halmstad.
(Of course we discussed an ”electric petrol station” instead).

Esten would like us to expand his potatoe, strawberry and rhubarb field and grow so much that our restaurant won’t need to buy any from elsewhere.

Well, I don’t know if we will be able to fullfill all Esten’s wishes and visions, but we have certainly started with small steps.
Life writes his own stories, and the very same day that we put all his ideas onto paper, two homeless cats showed up at our farm, and they more or less moved in.

Also, we are looking into charging station possibilities (as an alternative to Esten’s ”petrol station” vision).

AND : we are trying to enjoy every single part of our days - we laugh as often as we possibly can.
(We laugh a hell of a lot).
Life is too short not to make new friends….

Thank you all staff and guests for our most busy and crazy day EVER.We’ve experienced everything from rubber boots being lost in the lake to a burst water pipe, a well delayed cheese delivery and all electricity suddenly gone. Life is good !

It’s been a week that the abandoned cat “Prosciutto” hasn’t been here at our farm to ask for food.
Today Jesper heard someone meeoweing on Annerstad’s cemetry, VERY VERY high up in a tree.

We called the fire departement who kindly gave us a few numbers to call.
And we stumbled across an amazingly friendly cat-rescue-hero.

So this morning we have had a few hours of pure torture.
How EXHAUSTING it is to look up into the sky, watching and listening to a dead-scared, hungry and thirsty cat !
Thank you, Benjamin from being such a heroe 🫶.

The crazy days have started. . .
Summer is finally here.

Summer in Sweden is not about beautiful sunny days in may or starting the bbq season in late april.
In this country it’s more like a religion.
It’s a holy season.
And this season starts for almost EVERYONE at the same time : THE END OF SCHOOL in the early middle of june.
It’s a huge celebration here in Sweden, people even buy new outfits to worship this special time of the year.

And right after that : it’s Midsommar coming up.
That one is about strawberries and it’s about picking flowers out in nature.
A magical and yet so down to Earth celebration.
In a nutshell : the whole thing called ”summer” is about appreciating what Nature has given us - appreciating it here and now !!

And yes, even the rainy days in a Swedish summer are somehow magical (sometimes I ask myself why it is like that).

Have a good start of the season - it’s all beginning today…..
