The crazy days have started. . .
Summer is finally here.

Summer in Sweden is not about beautiful sunny days in may or starting the bbq season in late april.
In this country it’s more like a religion.
It’s a holy season.
And this season starts for almost EVERYONE at the same time : THE END OF SCHOOL in the early middle of june.
It’s a huge celebration here in Sweden, people even buy new outfits to worship this special time of the year.

And right after that : it’s Midsommar coming up.
That one is about strawberries and it’s about picking flowers out in nature.
A magical and yet so down to Earth celebration.
In a nutshell : the whole thing called ”summer” is about appreciating what Nature has given us - appreciating it here and now !!

And yes, even the rainy days in a Swedish summer are somehow magical (sometimes I ask myself why it is like that).

Have a good start of the season - it’s all beginning today…..

Irish Singer Songwriter Joe O’Sullivan, his 1st concert in Sweden.
He writes all his lyrics and music himself, and his live repertoire blends original songs with interpretations of artists such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young.

Better late than never -
Thank you (everyone) for a great week-end ! ! !

Our cow shed has had its maiden voyage on saturday and it’s now no longer a cow shed.

Once again we have learned that
it’s all about love, passion, fun, dedication, craziness & soul.

SO -
We have had a really cool-fun-festival-like concert-party-summer event.
And yes, the music WAS amazing,
the artists real superstar-darlings
and the weather-god was on our side.

BUT what really touched us were all the encounters of love we have made.
We‘ve allowed so many new people into our hearts.
We‘ve made new friends.
(And I have even met a Copenhagen Amager true „soulmate“.
All unexpectedly along the journey).

Soooo - even though big crowds of people completely overwhelm me : what can make one smile more than to look into so many smiling faces ??
My heart starting singing and dancing when I suddenly heard non-existing music inside of my head.
(Though not before I was back home in our completely QUIET house).

THANK YOU, dear guests, dear friends, dear staff, dear beer brewers, dear pizza bakers, dear family, dear helpers.
Hope you can still feel all our love too. .

Here a small update from us in the WOODS :
Well, march so far has been pretty busy - and that’s of course great.

We’re working hard on getting the barn ready for our first concert on the 30th of may.
In the meantime, we’ve worked on our clothing collection (both in Italy as well as here in our studio in Annerstad).
We think it’s a gorgeous collection, so come in and check it out as soon as you can !!!

We’re also busy booking in company-beer-testings as well as company canoe & pizza parties.

We’ve worked on a super yummy new pizza (with truffle and pea cream) - that one must be tasted !

Today we’ve had a seminar here in our restaurant and in our shop upstairs.
So cool to meet 23 colleagues with a similar farm-shop-tourist-destination-and-food-production in beautiful Småland.

See you friday from 15-20 or on saturday from 11-20…. !

MEET TWO REAL SUPERWOMEN IN ONE CAR :
So cool that we’ve had the pleasure to be out with these 2 for a whole night !!!
To the left Lina Skandevall (),
the one person in Sweden who knows EVERY SINGLE PLACE and its story.(ok maybe there’s still few places to be discovered even by her, but I think we’re getting CLOSE).
She’s a Duracell battery traveller that can’t get enough of discovering the world and getting inspired MORE.
And of course it gets beyond that : she’s also in politics and helps small people like us in government-facilitation-committees to get things in the hospitality, food & agriculture industry done easier.
Lina also spreads the word on TV, lectures, coaches and organises PR events.

It’s exactly 32 years ago that we’ve been sitting on the floor in Gungun’s farmhouse in India, making plans of what we wanna be when we grow up.
Now we still haven’t grown up.
But at least Jeanette has achieved pretty much EVERYTHING that one could possibly achieve in the world of travel, food & beauty.
Not only does she run one of the world’s most awarded hotels & spas, is owner of two Michelin star restaurants -she has also developed the most luxurious natural skincare lines EVER.
(we are soooooo proud of you !).

Of course, I feel like a complete idiot next to these women, BUT it’s always the same amount of fun and inspiration.

Most important thing : Let’s never grow up !

HAPPY “NEARLY” FRIDAY . . .
Time flies and it’s almost february already.
Lots of projects ahead of us and lots of planning happening these days.
(More info to follow shortly ! ! !).

In the meantime we’re open fridays and saturdays as usual and are looking forward to seeing you.
P.S. : Our new pizzas are with a white, green or pink base - photos to follow.

Happy Monday - and: a happy new year to you !
Sorry, we’ve been completely quiet for 3 weeks. . .
Basically, we have been doing NOTHING MUCH other than having had a wonderful, relaxed and magical time at home. In the woods.

This year was our first Christmas without family from abroad visiting us and our first New Year’s Eve with a HUGE amount of really good friends.
The best part of it was that we were a mix of people of all ages from 15 to 80.
And age certainly didn’t matter in any possible way : the first price for dancing the night away goes to our
”oldest” guests (who are in fact the youngest in mind).

Other than that ?
It doesn’t make any sense anymore to read the news. One thing less to waste time with.
But at least we still know what we believe in : winter is our religion.
The contrast of freezing cold and burning hot.
Nature’s default to slow us down completely : Magic.

Now we’re back in love again - thank god.
In love with life, curiosity, enthusiasm, new ideas, passion, people, zest and with love itself.
(Sorry, but this was our past 3 weeks in a nutshell).

TIME TO RELAX . . .
Hopefully, most of you lovely people have finished stressing around by now and can enjoy these magical last days before Christmas.
It has taken us many years to understand that NOT DOING ANYTHING AT ALL is the best part of this season.
Going out somewhere cosy for a gingerbread hot chocolate is more important than finding the perfect Christmas napkins. (Well, at least for us that is).
So we’re looking forward to seeing you in Annerstad this week-end and to chill with you.
We’re curious to hear everyone’s plans for the next year.
The gingerbread cocoa is waiting for you.
(Pizzas and waffles too, of course !).

YES, we always go completely over the top with Christmas decorations at home !

BUT : except for the Lego Home Alone McCallister House we didn’t buy a single new Christmas thing this year.
(And we certainly didn’t sell any new decorations in our shop either).

We’re getting more and more (and more) convinced about flea markets and second hand. And that feels so right !

Just found some very antique wooden Christmas ornaments in a red cross shop.
Hopefully, we’ll have the time to have similar ornaments made from local wood somewhere in our neighbourhood…. (for next year Christmas that is !).

We’ve been very quiet about our clothing range too, and we’ve certainly not advertised it very much yet.
WHY ? ? ? That’s because we’re still working on making it as sustainable as possible.
And this process takes some time ! ! !

So far we are working with 3 materials that we can track 100% to their origin (a local woolen fabric from sheep in our area, upcycled hotel bedding and re-purposed pimped pieces.

While we’re working on next year’s women’s & unisex adventure collection, most of our time is dedicated to sourcing the material.
It has to be right, and it has to be fun too !

And it’s REALLY cool to meet so many people who think the same way.
