Traditionally there are 2 stalls that’s super popular here.

One in last row and one in middle row. One retired, the middle one like changed hands and no longer that popular.

Last row now has this new addition with a long queue. Flavour wise, it’s quite good. Noodle texture on point. Soup also quite nice. I understand why there is a queue.

I only have one major gripe about it. The minced meat is too minced. No more chew. I wish it was not so blended up.

Came here for lunch and apparently not many people do that cos only a few stalls open. This BKT stall only got a few customers, but i was here specifically for it.

I like the fact they have some sets that let you have a few items.

I ordered the set with a single rib and a braise pork leg. I also chose the fatty leg when asked if I want thin or fat. FAT IS FLAVOUR!!

The BKT is not bad, but the pork leg really stole the show. So tender! So flavourful! So shiok.

Amount of duck and crispy skin is unbeatable.

Fish Dumpling and Fish Noodles

First thing that jumped at me was the price. $18 for a bowl of fish noodles and dumplings.

The fish noodles were irregularly sized, not sure if it’s done on purpose to reinforce the Handmade message. Taste wise it is fully covered by the chilli, vinegar, soy n lard. Texture is chewy like the fish dumpling skin. The QQness can last very long, I got a bit impatient and I swallowed after a few chews. Shld have taken my time and chew slowly.

The fish dumplings were HUGE! Filling was pork with solefish. So the umami flavour is alrdy up there.
The skin is also chewy like the noodles.

Both the noodles n the dumplings are good for slow chewing. Fish flavour will slowly show up.

End of the day, this is an interesting experience. Would I try again? See if got craving or not lor.

Curry Zinger with curry sauce.

This year KFC did something quite awesome. The curry is very good. It was thick, flavourful n spicy. I’m didn’t think the potatoes were needed into tough.

The zinger burger bun was replaced by 2 pieces of prata like bun. It’s not as thin as prata, not as fluffy, but still has that flaky texture. Very good with the curry.

Have not eaten here for quite a long time. I went with huge anticipation, but I felt a bit let down in the end.

The rice seemed soggy compared to usual. White chicken was okay. I had the $5 portion, this was a lot of meat. So quite shiok.

The fried chicken wings were fresh but somehow I didn’t seem to enjoy it as much as before. Maybe I ate too much?

So if after this session, do I prefer this or victor’s. I would have to go for victor’s even though no soup there since pandemic.

Oh and the chilli at Da Ji felt very tamed that evening. Not enough kick.

That’s the drink on the right. It’s a huge cup of wheatgrass with coconut.

It’s a nice drink. I just order it from the picture on the wall, I had no idea what the price was. Very refreshing but I was honestly shocked when I got the bill. $10!

I ask myself if I would order that if I knew the price. It was real coconut juice with wheatgrass syrup?

Probably not unless I was feeling rich n thirsty. I am glad I tried it though. It was good.
