W**e … the gift that keeps on giving! ☺️ Not only is it a “tasty beverage” (said in a Samuel L Jackson voice) 😋 but it’s always got something to teach us 🤓🍇🍷 So this week I’ve been learning from w**emaker Ox Hardy about the Italian grapes I know and love that are finding a home in South Australia (Fiano!!); the evolution of Grenache w**emaking (more approachable styles); the longevity of legacy vines (130 yr old ‘ancestor’ Syrah in McClaren Vale); the curious magic of fermentation in slate!!! 🧐👏🏻🤩 Yup, in the world of w**e -everyday’s a learning day 😜 **ery **e

Cheers to ‘Grenache Day’ 🍷

We’re enjoying a taste of Margaret River GRENACHE before we move onto the Sardinian-named CANNONAU (brought over to the island by Spanish settlers, at the end of the 13th century, under the rule of the Crown of Aragon) that adapted beautifully to the local environment, while still offering the same gorgeous red fruit notes, with a hint of blood orange!! 😋🍇🍷🥰

Thanks to everyone who joined our tasting last night! 🥂🍷🥰

The blind tasting was really fun and some of the guesses were pretty close!! 😜 The chances of nailing a Roero DOCG (aka Nebbiolo from vineyards over the other side of the river from Barolo & Barbaresco) was slim 🤓 so you all did yourself proud with the Sangiovese and Sagrantino ideas!
